August 31, 2025Aug 31 Since nVidia smooth motion was released, I have tried to use it on my 4090 card coupled with Frame Generation, I noticed a noticeable improvement in stutter (and slightly higher FPS), but not fully eliminated at large airports, but the drew back was screen flickering all the time, very annoying. tried every possible combinations of V-Sync and other settings with no avail. Today I switched from nVidia FG to FSR3 (for testing), screen flickering gone, stutter was reduced, FPS was about 20-30% higher, and overall smoothness around large airports improved. I took a flight from EBBR (aerosoft) to EGLL (default) in Fenix 320, with BATC full traffic (AIG + FSLTL), things were pretty nice except for some noticeable lag of data entry in MCDU, FCU and PFD data tapes (speed, ALT, etc...) maybe some one can try and see if it improve things. note: I think smooth motion coupled with nVidia FG on 4090 is like X3 FG in 5090, waiting for ASOBO/nVidia to fix screen flickering. overall result (to me) is like loosless result with much lower artifacts and no need to start external application. August 31, 2025Aug 31 I like FSR3 a lot. However, alongside all of those improvements, better quality, and smoothness (at least on my system) you will also get ghosting of the propellers and lagging aircraft shadows at taxi speeds on the ground. Hopefully they can improve these issues in a future implementation of FSR3, but we know how these things go... It could be a long time, so you simply take your choice. September 1, 2025Sep 1 Now that I have found joy w/o GFE filters I will have to update GPU driver from my circa 2/25 one installed now, and w/ it the NV app. It's tempting not to because I have the best perf I've yet had in 2024. But I can revert back if need be.
