I have installed MSFS 2024. My question is if it is possible to remove the opening video. It is getting quite annoying. There is something called Fast Launch what is it and does it make the video disappear?

There's a mod on Flightsim.to apparently, not tried it myself but might do one day.

All it does does is give you something else to look at while waiting for the sim to load. Does not make the load times shorter.

-fastlaunch will remove the few 'ads' at the start and it's good idea to use it to speed up the loading a bit but, as Ed said, the video is just playing while the game is loading so you can't remove it to make the loading faster.

I also did find it very annoying (it's very good the first 3 times you see it but then it got annoying quickly 😁) .. so I just replace it by a tiny 7kb black video, you will still see the loading progress percentage but just on a black background instead of the that marketing video playing over and over again.

unzip the file and replace the existing one (make a backup first so you can revert back if needed).

For steam, the video file is located in your steam folder : ..\Steam\steamapps\common\MSFS2024\Packages\fs-base-videos\Video

I don't have the store version so i'm not sure about the location those fs.to addons should give you the path.

If you prefer a still image there is this for example : https://flightsim.to/file/86919/no-intro-video-simple-splash-screen , there are also alternative videos on fs.to but if you got fed up with the first one you'll probaby get fed up with the others too.

Just remember that if your in the Beta, You will have to replace that file every time it updates . Did that a few times and finally got to a point where it did not matter any more. Of course your mileage will vary.

oh thanks for the info, i joined SU3 beta when it came out and i never had to replace the video (haven't tried SU4), the modified one stayed .. but well yeah, as you said, mileage will vary, it's msfs2024 after all you never know what will happen next 😁😄🙃
