September 15, 2025Sep 15 I was taught to call VRAM to the "Virtual Memory" implemented through a page file, which in Windows I never limit and set to be managed by the system. The OS will adapt it to the needs. But I guess you mean "Video Random Memory", and well, with my GPU and it's 8GB I haven't yet emptied it, and AFAIK FS 2024 never crashed because of that, even in longer flights, but I did experience other bugs in long flights, such as WASM problems, etc... It's not about usage but availability I believe that the reported "availability" there means available to MSFS...so if the system or GPU firmware is allocating some VRAM for its own use it would not be reported as available to the sim. User settings, either at driver level or in the process itself, may well affect reported available VRAM, because the GPU does use some memory to do post-processing. I would expect processing internal to the GPU like aggressive AA or frame gen to use a non-trivial amount of VRAM...whether that's considered user or system usage is unclear to me. And ironically the textures for ground are so good that the difference between high and low isn't really noticeable unless you are flying the ga bug beaters. Happy Landings
September 15, 2025Sep 15 Wonder how many people start with low settings and work up? Back in the day I used to do it the opposite go high and then start working down.. By just changing my end from medium ground textures to low I was able to gain about 40-50 lod.

Sometimes its 15gb and after a while only 12gb.
September 15, 2025Sep 15 rgr, you are correct I wasn't understanding. Hopefully something or someone has the answer. Goodluck & Happy Landings
September 15, 2025Sep 15 Author Another example https://ibb.co/zWq6GQw3 https://ibb.co/dJ65j0pK And then sometimes i see it going back to 15gb. No one else has this behaviour? It like 12 15 12 15 every second.
