Photogrammetry in South Wales

Featured Replies

I did a VFR flight this morning and found photogrammetry extending from beyond Barry Island in the West all the way to Magor in the East.  Whilst I had seen photogrammetry covering Newport and Cardiff before, I don't recall it extending either that far east or West or looking so good.

Are Asobo actually improving photogrammic areas without telling us? What other areas may have improved without us knowing about it and therefore not exploring?

Is my mind playing tricks on me? Was it always there or has there really been some under the radar improvements?

It looks extremely realistic.

Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)

I use FStarter24 to find all photogrammetry with just a mouse click. Can't be easier.

Thanks - That looks like a very useful app.

I still wonder how much improvement is going on behind the scenes/under the radar though.

Use this;

MFS 2020 / 2024 list of photogrammetry cities 3D PG. – Google My Maps

Only Asobo know exactly when and how much is added; no app can do that till information is available or discovered / reported and added to maps available.

TIN does never get sneakily updated. Always through City or World Updates.

Hey guys, a little off topic, but along the same lines. As someone who hasn't made the jump yet to 2024, is the photogramettry better in 24? I never use it in 2020 because of the delayed loading and spikey buildings. :wink:

Just like 2020, the newer TIN stuff is a lot better.  However, you need quite a good system to get the best out of the higher resolution textures, though frame generation does help.
