Real Airbus Pilot Says: X-Plane 12.3 Beta Update Is No Joke!

Featured Replies

The progress that X-Plane 12 continues to make is impressive and outstanding. This real Airbus pilots comments at 1:02:15 that "X-Plane is more realistic than MSFS; more people are switching from MSFS to X-Plane; the X-Plane flight experience is second to none when it comes to flight simulation; the flight dynamics and weather modelling are a cut above in X-Plane, etc.....". Having said that, he was not that impressed with the A330.

53:40 "X-Plane is way more work (control inputs) to land than the same plane in MSFS".

Congrats for taking the risk of getting blocked by Jan 😅

But it‘s true that I have seen sooo many people switching over or at least trying it out in the past few months. In the meantime a major sim is trying to get more money by opening up to a whole new game-console-community, aiming for a sustainable future from a financial point of view (at least that‘s what it looks like).

Why should this get blocked? It is just the opinion of an Airbus pilot that uses both sims.

I resisted buying X-Plane for 30 years, instead using MSFS exclusively. Given that I have the flight sim hardware to satisfactorily enjoy MSFS and due to my frustration with MSFS 2024, I thought I would skip a $50 dinner at McDonald's and bought X-Plane 12. It was eye opening. BTW, I like both X-Plane 12 and MSFS 2024. I used MSFS 2024 last week and everything was good until I got a CTD trying to replay the landing. Oh well. I am happy to have both sims. Well worth it. X-Plane 12 is dirt cheap. Cheaper than quite a few MSFS 2024 add-ons.

Some here hate topics from real pilots stating their preferences because it will fire up discussions about sim A being better than sim B. That‘s the reason as far as I‘ve understood it 🙂

Which otoh is of no harm if you like both, use both to their best, and feel happy about the advances in some files of desktop flight simulation.

Should I have the time I would already be getting ready for the C-130J comming for DCS World 😜

There's no functional difference between starting a "my sim is better than your sim" food fight, and importing a video and commenting "this guy says my sim is better than your sim".

I'll leave this here, since the video showcases the XP12.3 beta, but the whole "people are switching" debate isn't gonna fly here.

Locked.
