Blue light causes med problems

Featured Replies

Many problems, the worst is brain cancer.

I have blue light filtering ON on my desktop and also in my VR headset.

Desktop monitor:

Settings, type in Night Light, Schedule Night Light ON. I set mine to off at 5 am off and on at 6am. That way night light blue filtering is only off between 5 and 6 am while I sleep. There's a slider to adjust how much blue light you want to remove and the results are seen in real time as you move the slider. I've been using this blue light filtering in Windows for 20 years.

VR: There are sliders for red and blue in Pimax Client. Or in OpenXR tool kit. Slide red higher and slide blue lower. Leave the green at normal. No need to be extreme.

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

Physiologically, blue light just reminds your brain: it's day time! It doesn't really cause any damage, natural blue sky or even overcast day is full of blue light.

Blue light at inappropriate time can disrupt sleeping pattern, that's how it might cause many problems. Filter on screen for night time can help, but if you just sleep well, no need to worry. If you don't sleep well, there might be many other causes as well, dead scroll on smartphone before bed do no good to your sleep even without any blue....

Many things can cause cancer, we are told just about everything can cause it at one stage or another.

Take it with a grain of salt

Just going to run a Chromebook and not upgrade to a Windows computer. Too many problems with the new Sims! 😱
Trying to keep peace and harmony and the will of Landru on the site seems to be a full time job!
