September 30, 2025Sep 30 I thought that I had asked this question some time ago however a search by author (me) didn't find a post. September 30, 2025Sep 30 At times after an game update it reverts back to full screen and you have to go back and re-enable windowed mode.
October 1, 2025Oct 1 My MSFS2020 works this way without setting any specific: MSFS should remember the status (windowed or full screen) when I quit the last time. October 1, 2025Oct 1 Author I have done everything suggested above. When I set graphics to 'windows' and save it, if I exit MSFS2020 and restart immediately, windows mode is retained. If I don't use MSFS2020 for some time and then restart it has reverted to full screen. That is where the setting is stored. Or, you can just press Alt + Enter, less than one second's task.

It works in MSFS2020 but not with MSFS2024 SU4 Beta. It may have something to do with the SU4 Beta. I was running the Beta and stopped because it was very buggy upon first release on my system. Running SU3 I don't have a problem with Windowed mode being remembered.
