Problems with pilot seat position view at VR mode

Featured Replies

I an using a Quest 3 and have some problems with pilots seat position at the cockpit view.- At GA aircraft the cockpit looks OK, but at airliners as the B737 or B777 the pilots seat looks extremely close to the panel. I had already mapped both up/down  and zoom in/out pilot views to buttons at my CH Throttle Quadrant which works OK at normal mode, but at VR mode only up/down position works, so I cannot find a way to have a normal pilot position.- I noticed that the at VR mode, the cockpit view depends on some way to the last view present before switching to VR, so I tried with a zoomed out pilot view but no way.- Another issue is that sometimes within VR mode the cockpit turns to the right and cannot recenter it.- Thanks for your opinions

you can reinitialize the pilot view using for example the "B" button on a XBox controller (FS24). I don't have the exact function name in mind right now.

EDIT: It's "Reset cockpit view"

It is control+spacebar, but it doesnt work in VR mode

I mapped view (VR camera?) translation to my HOTAS, so I can move view point left/right, up/down and forward/backward. Works very well in VR. The movement could be more refined, but good enough.

Yes, I found those commands are available and so could map the view point left/right, up/down and forward/backward to buttons at my CH Quadrant and works fine. But in my case, sometimes without any visible reason, my whole VR view turns right about 10 or 20 degrees, and cannot recenter it, I wonder if it happens to anybody else.-

Zooming is only 1 of two types of commands that msfs provides for moving closer or further away from the cockpit. There are also transform in and transform out. Transform works perfectly in VR. The rocker switch on my Alpha yoke will move (raise or lower) the the view up or down. But if I also push the white button on back of the yoke, then that same rocker switch no longer transforms the view up or down. Instead it moves the view continuously closer or further from the cockpit as I move the yoke rocker up or down.

Transform moves your view in the cockpit forward and back from the dash, it does not move the outside view of the scenery at all. Zoom moves both your cockpit view and the outside view at the same time.

I have no use for "zoom", and removed it from the mouse wheel so that it does not interfere with turning the knobs with the mouse wheel. If I want a closer view to the dash, I use transform instead of zoom.

It would also be very easy to remove zoom from the mouse wheel, and put the transform function onto the mouse wheel. Just change the msfs assignments on the controller called "Mouse" in msfs settings screen. Easy peasy.
