Probably not, otherwise MSFS would recognise them. And if they really are there, then there might be technical problems with you liveries. If it is only one that is causing problems, it is probably a technical issue, if you get error 81, the whole AI aircrfat package is not known to the Sim.

Don't know what AI aircraft you are using, but AIG, FSLTL and IVAO MTL works flawlessly.

Do know that AI aircraft installation is outside PSXT and not the responsibility of PSXT. That's your job to do that right.

The way you save notepad files in windows now is annoying. Several times when I thought I saved something, it didn't work lol. I'll try again tomorrow night.

But my other question is, when I see aircraft landing well short of the runway (like touching down almost 1000ft short), is there anything that can be done about it? So far I've seen it at Denver and Vegas.

  • It can be depending on where you are, but it's still better imo than watching an aircraft land then slowly exit or even spin around once or twice on the runway and then exit on a reverse taxiway and o

  • Yes, I moved the MD11 over to my custom AI aircraft folder and then disabled the fsltl-traffic-base from being used in the sim and PSXT.

Don't know what you are talking about.  "Notepad" is not a file format. PSXT is writing  "utf8" files, either for .xml or for .txt.
Do not edit parameters.xml while PSXT is running because when PSXT exts it will overwrite your changes.

Do you look in the Log.txt every now and then? It could be that ther is a problem with reading the QNH. Also check that the qnh shown by PSXT is the actual QNH live. And check that you are running MSFS with live weather.

Was referring to aircraft.cfg files. I know "notepad" isn't a format, but it's what I use to open the files.

Edit: omg, ment to send that message somewhere else, wasn't thinking I guess🤦‍♂️

Hi Dave_YVR

You mention earlier in the thread that you have a custom ai aircraft file with amongst others some military ai aircraft. Would love to expand the availability of military in the sim but can't find a site with any suitable aircraft. I used to use MAIW in FSX but they gave up with MSFS 2020. Have you converted FSX models or have you discovered a site with already converted aircraft?

I use the FSX models and packages from MAIW. The availability of paints and regs is second to none. I don't "convert" them persay, as FSX AI models generally work in 2020 but I set them up so that MSFS2020 sees them.

i7-13700KF, 32gb DDR4 3200,  RTX 4080, Win 11, MSFS 2024

Hi Dave

Thanks-I've tried FSX native ai models from MAIW before but without success-it's the setting them up to be seen in MSFS 2020 that's the problem as I'm not entirely sure what's involved and every adjustment I've tried has failed.
