October 11, 2025Oct 11 MSFS 2024. Has anyone managed to install Just Flight Arrow in Addon Linker. During the installation you cannot choose the installation folder, it happens automatically. The file cannot be moved from the 2024 Community folder without an error message saying that it is not allowed. Is there a way to get around this so that you can put the file in the Addon linker folder? I just did it this morning for the turbo Arrows in FS2024. My guess is your Community folder is within a protected folder and Windows is saving you from yourself. You're right tho, Just Flight does not give the option to install into a user defined folder. -J 13700KF | RTX 4090 @ 1440 | 64GB DDR5 | 2 x 1TB SSDs | 1TB M.2 NVMe
October 11, 2025Oct 11 I can only add to the posts above: install/activate then move to where you want the files to be.
October 11, 2025Oct 11 One solution that seemed to work for most people having that Windows issue not letting then move the files is to ZIP the folder instead of moving it. The trick is to zip it in ANOTHER folder with 7-zip like explained in the post below : I have the Steam version so i could never test this. After reading about that little trick, i gave this advice to many people who had a similiar issue as yours and it seems to work. Obviously start slowly -> try with 1 addon only -> zip it in another folder -> unzip it in your AL folder -> delete the original files in the real community folder (if windows lets you) -> link it via AL -> and very important test it the sim to make sure the addon works correctly. It shouldn't be risky, worst case scenerio you just have to reinstall the addon. As rule of thumb for AL, i don't officially recommend moving payware addons if you are unsure of what you are doing, but if you are well aware of how all this works and confident with computers it should be ok, many people have done that already. Not sure if that helps or not, but maybe worth a try 🍺 Edited October 11, 2025Oct 11 by Bad_T
