Gents,

i came across this one https://beam.eyeware.tech/ and wonder if anyone of you has tried it ? it says 14 days money back so as soon as MSFS2024 is loading again i will try it but thought i ask in the meantime to hopefully get some impressions from you.

Thank you, Carsten

I have it and it works as intended. But like my TrackIR5, I dont use it very often, as it is a pain in the... to tweak those axes until you are absolutely happy with it in the sim. But that is just me 😉 Maybe I should give it a go again, as the latest update somehow removed the need of another tool called opentrack.

Thanks, I already watched many videos, I still dont get it right. My main issue is that the head tracking results always in movement of those axes I dont want to move, e.g. if I look up, the tracking also interprets this as moving my eyepoint upwards. The same with left and right rotation. It always also moves the eyepoint left or right. If I adjust the curves to avoid those vertical and lateral movements, I have to do it so stringent, no actual lateral or vertical movement is possible anymore. I simply dont find a setting that suits me, just wasted another hour trying it...

Chris, just a suggestion. Perhaps you've already tried, if so, I apologize. In BET, you can select to follow either Head, eyes, or both. There is also menu to filter these movements out with out resorting to the very sensitive curves in OpenTrack. Also in OT you can select which channels to monitor. When adjusting the "X", "Y" "Z" channels, it's recommended to do them individually with the other channels disabled. Once each channel is set up, then re-enable the other two. Personally it worked fine for me in Win 10, but Win 11 blocked OT interacting with ATS. BET moves fine, and OT responds, but states "No Video" and the game does not respond. l Haven't gone back to it. I've changed the settings  in Win Defender to allow OT in interface. BET works in itself, but when I use it with MSFS 2020, I get CTD. I stopped using it.🤒 Good luck with your case..

Of course I did set it up exactly like this. But I guess this is part of the problem, because if you disable X and Z axis while setting up the Y axis (e.g.), of course you wont see any unwanted movement on this very disabled axes. The moment you then enable all three, the mess is there...

Just noticed, 2.4.5 is the version I'm using. Beam Eyetracker notified me of a beta ver. 2.5.2 that eliminates the need for OpenTrack. I haven't tried it yet, but it sounds promising.

Am using 2.5.2 and it's a smoother experience, much less jittery. Overall a good improvement over 2.4.5 I would say.
