December 29, 2025Dec 29 DTW went well. The confirmation page had all the necessary information for the installation. Their forum had a thread on configuring it for P3Dv5 and I found a conversation here on AVSIM for the runway lights. It seemed there was some bleed through on the outlying runways, but I only did night landings, it was hard to tell. Everything around the terminal including the inside runways looked good. I did three flights in and out this weekend. As with Long Beach and Philadelphia, Shez did a very good job. I just wish I didn't wait so long to add this airport. Many thanks to everyone in this thread in easing my anxiety to install it and to all the contributors in the AVSIM and the SunSkyJet forums to make this work in P3Dv5. January 4Jan 4 @deeknow I received the link and key as soon as I completed the donation. however, I found this link in the forum under 'KDTW Beta". If you haven't received the link yet hopefully this helps. https://www.sunskyjet.com/newforum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=128 Jerry Huntington Beach, CA Win 11 Pro, P3Dv5.4, I9-14900KS, Trident Z5 96GB 6400MT RAM, MSI MAG Z790 ACE, MSI RTX 4090 24G, Samsung 990 Pro and WD SN850x NVMe M2
January 7Jan 7 Thanks @FXDWG all sorted, heard from Shez soon after making the donation, scenery working well in v5.3 apart from one area of texturing on one of the car-park buildings but not worried about that. Very happy to have a more realistic DTW finally. Dean Stringer
January 12Jan 12 I also got KDTW and made an update for KDTW. The afcad was obviously from another designer taken over to run this scenery. Now it is matching most of all taxilines and parkings perfectly. I also removed the extremely big runway lights from SODE and replaced them with default runway lights defined in ADE on the runways. If someone still finds things to fix, please drop me a line here or by mail. I will see, what I can do. I read above about a car-park building. Maybe someone can point me to it. Hope you like the update. My website link in the signature. January 14Jan 14 @deeknow Did you move the .xml file from the 'Prepar3D v4 Add-ons' to the 'Prepar3D v5 Add-ons' folder? The install program automatically adds the file to the p3dv4 path. There is about 4 to 5 entries in it. Not sure of the exact number as I'm not in front of my flight sim computer. When I moved it and verified the paths the car-park textures came up. @blaunarwal Thank you very much for the afcad and fixing the runway lights. I'm looking forward to using it this weekend.
