Can anyone help as I have spent countless hours and I had it figured out so I thought until the update today.  I just want to program the red button on top of the Honeycomb yoke to switch between cockpit and external view just as I have it in 2020.

Any help is appreciated as I have spent more time then I can.

Have you assigned ‘toggle external view’?

I will go and check my settings. I use the little white button on the left to toggle outside/cockpit views. I use the  right white rocker to toggle drone view on and off. that rocker label says Avionics 2. But I just assigned both avionics 1 and 2 to the left white toggle which frees up the right white toggle to use as my drone view toggle. 

To toggle the outside/cockpit views to a momentary button: assign 2 commands to the same momentary button

TOGGLE COCKPIT VIEW

TOGGLE OUTSIDE VIEW.

(assigning both to the very same button. is the secret). click the gear icon and make sure the "input repetition" checkboxes is checked ON

 

to toggle drone view on a button that stays up or down until you move it back, assign this:

TOGGLE DRONE

(and then click the gear icon and turn OFF "imput repetition" that is the secret for a toggle button that stays in either position.

Thanks, I have toggle external adn Cockpit now as same button but if you start a new flight it starts i ncockpit, I can hit button to go outside but hitting button again does nothing.  

Tried to check if anything else might be conflicting but its strange.

I need to learn these settings as its the only thing stopping me from using 2024.

As Fielder said, make sure Input repetition is ticked - 

Search for "COCKPIT/EXTERNAL VIEW MODE"

In the sim, i have it set as a toggle on my kbd.
