All my add-on packages disappeared

Featured Replies

I was very careful when I set up MSFS 2024 to locate my community folders on a separate drive and I created a separate folder structure for all my ORBX scenery but when I wanted to fly tonight all my add-on aircraft (A2A, SWS etc) are all gone. I checked add-on linker and they are showing green. Where do I start getting my content back. It is now getting more of hassle managing 2024 that it was managing P3D

I'd start by checking to see if Addon Linker and your UserCfg.Opt both point to the same place.

In my setup the last line of UserCfg.opt is   InstalledPackagesPath "E:\FS24\Packages"

In Addon Linker > Tools > Options > MSFS 2024 Community folder:  e:\fs24\packages\community

Another thing... sure you're running Addon Linker for 2024?

I am running Addon Linker for 2025. I noticed that the path I selected for my add-ons in MSFS 2024 changed. I tried to modify it in the MSFS settings but that made a bigger mess as it tried to move packages. Gave up and started with a clean slate.

On big advantage is that the problem I has with the A2A Comanche where the tablet did not work properly now is fixed after I re-installed it. Will recover more add-ons as required.

I had the same thing. My ORBX add-ons were still installed (according to the ORBX installer and by visually checking the install location) but they were nowhere to be seen within 2024.
Uninstalled and re-installed through the ORBX installer in the same location and everything was good again after that.
Guess the SU4 update broke the connection between 2024 and the installed add-ons.

Follow the KISS method and all turns out well.  Everything on a single drive:  OS, MSFS, everything.  Never an issue despite 3 reinstalls.
