December 18, 2025Dec 18 I just purchased two 3rd party airport scenery packages and can't get them to install in MSFS2024. The instructions said to unzip the file and move the layout.json and manifest.json files into the community folder. I did that but the only scenery that shows up when starting the sim is the default scenery. I watched a YouTube video by EzRyder, but had the same results when I followed the steps. I purchased a couple of airports from Orbx and they installed fine using Orbx Central. Since I haven't seen any other posts on this, it has to be something I'm doing wrong. The developers said that although the scenery was developed for 2020, other users have said they work in 2024. One of the developers is FeelThere and the other is Flyhigh. I tried using Addons_Linker, but that didn't work either. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks. And not just some single files like I understand from your message above. December 18, 2025Dec 18 Exactly. Those two files are integral to the file structure and belong with the rest of the scenery folders. Just take a look at any other scenery you have installed to see how it should be. You can do that in the linker as well.
December 18, 2025Dec 18 Author I tried that, but it didn't work. I haven't installed any other scenery besides Orbx which does the installation automatically. Thanks, I'll figure it out eventually. December 20, 2025Dec 20 The advice given is correct and should work.. Note that you are moving folders not files! Edited December 20, 2025Dec 20 by Bert Pieke Bert
