December 18, 2025Dec 18 I hope this is the right place to post this. I am long time simmer (FS4). Been on 2020 for about 2.5 years. My problem is I am trying to move over to 2024. The control bindings are very different from 2020. Also the settings menu is giving me fits. Every time I go into the sim, I have to reselect what profile I use. I also have to deactivate devices that I am not using. Example, for B777 I use spad so I have to deactivate the Bravo device. If I leave the sim & come back to the same plane, I have to deactivate the Bravo again. Very frustrated. Any suggestions. Just kidding. The mapping is tricky in the beginning. There are many YT videos. As per your concrete challenge, did you add Aircraft based settings? These do indeed stick to my aircraft. December 18, 2025Dec 18 Hi Phil, I've just got MSFS2024 and like you its very confusing but I've mamanged to sort it out. What I did was copied my PMDG 777 profile for SPAD and I've just had to amend things. I must admit I'm not very good with SPAD and still don't understand 3/4 of it. I've not had to deactivate any of my pheriphals. Sorry I wasn't much help but hopefully the video below is helpful Jason Jason Thompson
December 18, 2025Dec 18 General Controls, Airplane Controls, Specific Controls. If you want an experience much like 2020, Set the bottom two (Airplane, Specific) to NONE. In other words away with the confusion caused by complex features designed for Albert Einstein's great grand children. Now you have a profile for each controller (just like 2020). And if you want to make one for a specific plane, then make one under the General section with a name like for instance FenixAlphaYoke (just like you did in 2020). The * (ship's wheel) icon allows you to adjust the axis performance settings (sensitivities, end zones) or to save that profile anywhere on your computer, in the folder of your choice. It's wise to give the profile a name like Fenix 2024 Keyboard or Fenix Alpha Yoke). 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel.
