New PC soon, question about bindings.

Featured Replies

Hi, I’m having a new PC built for me by Jetline. I’m wondering about key assignments and bindings. I’m kind of OCD so I typed out each setting for each device. And I notice that they can be exported. Should I export them and import them with a USB stick after it’s installed in the new sim? Or are they stored in the cloud.

Thanks.

No, no Jack, don't worry, settings are gently stored on Asobo's servers, no need for exporting them. ☺️

I bought a new PC a  couple of months ago and was dreading having to set everything up again. I was pleasantly surprised when it all happened automagically. (FS2020, in my case.) It does take a while.

They should be stored in the cloud and basically you don't need to do a thing.

That said, it never hurts to have an export/screenshot as a backup.  You shouldn't need them, but of course better to be safe.

Thanks guys! I was hoping this is how it works.

Yes.  But you can also export them to local (assume you're talking controller/device bindings).  The "cloud" only option is a problem for those of us using multiple computers with different devices/controllers but with a single account ... have to import every time or have two MS accounts.

I was thinking about exporting them to the desktop, saving them to a USB, them importing them into the new install on the new PC.
Would that work?

You don't need to do any of that. It just works. As long as you aren't using multiple computers with different devices, as SayAgain said, which you aren't. Just dont' worry about it.
