Hi guys,

Released!

PSXT Version 14

Unified Application

PSXT and PSXTraffic have been merged into a single application. The new RealTraffic Source Selector lets you switch between RT Direct (formerly PSXT) and RT App (formerly PSXTraffic) without needing separate programs.

  • RealTraffic parked traffic now available in RT App mode
  • RT App can run on an external machine, no configuration in PSXT required. In the RT App, point at the IP Address where PSXT is running and you're good to go
  • Simplified method for multiple MSFS installations with a single RT App

Quality of Life Improvements

  • Scan Liveries / Scan Addon Airports — now push buttons that auto-restart PSXT
  • Block Aircraft — redesigned UI; block by callsign, registration, or hex ID
  • AutoRadius — user-configurable parameters, radius range 2–100 nm
  • Auto restart when a new flight is detected
  • Parked traffic now appears correctly when airports come into view

TCAS & Matching Enhancements

  • New "TCAS Coverage" mode: Above FL180, forces step 6 matching so all nearby traffic appears on TCAS and Little Navmap

PSXTraffic and PSXTraffic_P3D users see this WARNING:
Warning for PSXTraffic and PSXTraffic_P3D users:

There will be no automatic update. Please download the new version from my website.

Your old installations will become obsolete, but all data remains intact.

If needed:

1. Copy your learned folder (including all subfolders and files) to the new PSXT or PSXT_P3D

2. Copy your afolder and lfolder parameters to the new parameters.xml for PSXT or PSXT_P3D.

3. Copy your airports\my_park_airports.txt

What are you thinking of or wishing for?

Don't expect break throughs after 10 years of development. It is incremental evolution.

·         The block aircraft function has been removed.

Hey Nico,

How will this affect those who mirror real flights using the RealTraffic app to get all the flight data?

Thanks for your update!

Dag Bart,

You can still follow a flight by seeing it in front of you in your TCAS.

( Dutch:  Vond je die block funktie dan handig werken? Ik vond het heel lastig om op basis van RT App radar screen te zien waar ik moet zijn. Of gebruik je hem meer om niet in de weg te zitten bij een landing? )

I see that Sören also uses the block function. If a third jumps in, I'll change my plans. 😉

Goedemiddag Nico,

Bedankt voor je antwoord!

I use the block function to stop it from showing up on my TCAS. I follow real flights by looking at the RT app. From there I can see their assigned heading, speed and altitude. (See screenshot below) It's basically a voiceless type of ATC. Without this blocking function it would basically be impossible for me (and a fair few others that I know who do this) to continue using PSXT.

It would be shame if I and many others not here on avsim were forced to stay with an old version of PSXTraffic or were forced to stop using it entirely.

One way you could even improve the blocking version is by adding different ways to block aircraft based on, for example, aircraft registration and ICAO Hex code.

Ik hoop dat ik je gedachte kan veranderen. 😉

Alvast bedankt en een goed weekend!

Groeten,
Bart

@bartgast

What would be the advantage for you if blocking om  regcode would be possible too?

Note that if callsign is empty in the RT App, PSXT will use the regcode as callsign.

Same question for hexid.

Sorry for my late reply, was busy at work.

This would be to be able to block aircraft in areas where the RT coverage isn't as good. Sometimes the callsign changes to the flight number and then back to the callsign every minute for a while. Same with the callsign being suffixed with an underscore at airports with reduced coverage. Blocking by registration or hexid would give more flexibility.

Fijne avond,
Bart

Thanks Nico, looking forward to using it 😉

Hi Nico,

I'm back in the saddle again. Downloaded your version 14 and had cleaned up the prior installations.

When starting PSXT_P3D a red warning line comes up an tells something about lfolder and closes immediately.

In the parameter.xml there are 10 lfolders like this <parameter name="lfolder0" value="" />. And yes, I do have a valid RT license.

Help would be great.

Greetings

Ulrich

The lfolder problem is solved.

But now the PSXT_P3D window shows #simaddon: and #thirdp: in yellow.
