Are you turning it off during a flight or at the main screen? I find GFX settings have to be made at the main screen otherwise they don't "stick".

FS2024 • PMDG 738, 77F • FSL A321 • A2A Comanche, Aerostar • BS Baron, Bonanza, Caravan Pro • JF Tomahawk • TAOG H500C
BeyondATC • GSX Pro • ChasePlane & Flow Pro • TDS GTNXi • FSUIPC • AutoFPS • RealTurb

9800X3D B650E • ROG OC RTX 5090 • 64GB DDR5-6000 • VKB Gladiator, STECS, T-Rudder • Tobii 5 • ISP 1 Gbps

Mmmh...the only thing that comes to my mind: Do you have an external programm controlling your settings (eg. AutoFPS when you're in flight)?

Do you have the Nvidia App controlling settings?

9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen

interesting as it does pop up in autofps thou i dont see the setting in autofps to control it.

thanks

mike

Not at my pc to check Mike but there may well be an override in the Nvidia app.  Not used autoFPS for a while so not sure about that one as it has become more complex since l last used it

Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)

Or test it by doing a flight without autoFPS to narrow down the cause, I suppose.

Please review the readme

https://github.com/ResetXPDR/MSFS_AutoFPS#usage--configuration

  • Do NOT change MSFS graphics settings manually while in a flight with this app running as it will conflict with what the app is managing and they will automatically restore to what they originally were when you exit your flight. If you wish to change the defaults for these MSFS settings, you must do so either without this app running or, if it is, only while you are in the MSFS main menu (ie not in a flight).

or better the whole document

TL;DR: You must not change most gfx values while AutoFPS is running...

That explains why my GFX settings didn't "stick" during a flight. A classic case of not rtfm...

I think life is too short NOT to read instruction manuals (or to rely on YT 'experts')... 😜😁😎
