I think first time I try out this kind of "force trim" is in DCS Blackshark1, but never like it

Still prefer 4-way switch for trim for now

I will give this one a try 🙂

This is already a thing in X-Plane - there is a command you can map to "force trim release" or something like that.

Also many third-party helicopters have that functionality, but some helicopters (like the R22) don´t have it in real life, either.

The way it works in X-Plane for people with self-centering (i.e. not force-feedback) joysticks is different from reality. While in reality the FTR button will simply "set a new center position" (so now the stick just leans left, for example, if you totally let it go), in X-Plane it will apply a certain trim bias. Often this works by memorizing how much you deflect it when you push the button, then giving you a very brief time-window to return the stick to neutral, and then applying THAT deflection you had before "secretly" to your neutral stick position.

There is no default command for force trim release. Sure you're not confusing default with Rotorsim's EC-135?

If Austin or Phillip has the time, having a native "set new stick center" function would be much appreciated though. Even if the heli has no force trim system, an offset center would simply simulate a comfortable arm resting position during cruise.

There is.

It is called "controls magnetic lock".

(Really, whoever implemented it should have picked a WAY less cumbersome and confusing name, like "set_new_stick_center" or so.)
