Just installed the latest beta and noticed 'Reshade "  doesnt work at startup or when i click home on the keyboard m i reinstalled reshade but no go , also the startuo screen is very dark now along with in game ,  how could i rix this ? what steps should i take?

reshade nono in latest xplane use at your own risk. should know that by now

 

Never had a problem with reshade before this beta, i have my 2nd copy , but i need to know what files if possible to transfer over

It's not on the beta side of things, I'm running three computers with the latest beta from L/R! What version of re-shade are you running? No issues on my end with version 6.7.1.

Would be nice if L/R removed that pop up box that needs to be checked every time while running re-shade! How about a check box acknowledging potential issues while using re-shade! I know there could be issues, I worked through them, don't need to be reminded every run on every computer!!!

Just copy the reshade folder that was created in your x-plane 12 folder into the new setup.

Reshade is a an add-on that is known to be highly invasive and causes instability, crashes, malfunctions. These are so severe that Laminar decided to ban it from running.

You have to actively add a command-line switch to allow X-Plane to start with it on, all complaints and bug reports, no matter how unrelated they may seem, are then voided and nulled, coming from your installation. 

The problem remaining with this arrangement is that users tend to either forget or actively deny that they "enabled reshade" and will still endlessly complain on forums like this about this or that perceived bug or problem with X-Plane.

So i uninstalled reshade yet the darkness remains no matter what time of day i select,,,wonder if i can transfer something from my other xplane copy to repair this ?

Run the installer. It will detect and repair all default files that have been altered by you or another program. If that does not work, temporarily move the "prf" files from "[X-Plane]/Output/preferences" to some other folder to start with fresh settings.

Did both of those , its running as usual but the darkness is still there , its like an HDR effect on the highest setting

Then you will have to totally wipe X-Plane and reinstall it. If it is still "dark" after that, you either have to adjust your monitor...or you don´t like the realistic way that X-Plane portrays in-cockpit brightness (maybe you played "another" flight simulator a lot recently and are used to it´s lighting?) and it is just the way it is.

My 1st copy is fine , its 12.4 .0. b3 with reshade 6.6 guess i``ll just transfer the custom scenery and my addon aircraft over and use it

That's an old version of re-shade! Before you go through all that trouble of transfer/removal/reinstall, install the latest version of re-shade and give it a try. Been using re-shade for years on multiple computers with zero issue.

Hi,

Just did some testing just for you XMAN. reshade 6.6 that you are using as well as the latest update of 6.7.3 will give you a black or low visual screen in X-Plane latest beta. I then went an put back reshade 6.7.1, it works just fine, screens back to normal.

Get re-shade 6.7.1 and give that a try! Can't find it, let me know and I'll send it to you via discord.

Don't go crazy replacing files or reinstalling!

Impossible to forget! There is a popup box that appears on every computer, during every run during start up of XP12, that's in our face about the use of re-shade.

Doesnt stop them denying they are not using it.

100% correct! One good thing, if they file an issue reshade can easily be found to be in use via log files and dumps.
