Challenges include a short 6,631 foot runway with a displaced threshold, inclement weather, extreme mountainous terrain and an approach to RW 02 which requires a skilled circle to land procedure through valleys, where you have to find an airport that is not visible due to being hidden by the mountains. March 28Mar 28 Commercial Member Sadly, commercial jet flights are no longer allowed at this airport. Now they land at a new airport in a nearby city. Toncontin is only open to small aircraft, turbojet and private jets.
