Little Nav Map / MSFS2024 question?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've not used Little Navmap for years but I installed it tonight. My reason for installing it wasn't for flight planning; I recalled that in the past, LNM displayed a yellow circle around all addon airports that were loaded in as part of it's scenery database function.  I have many addon airports (both payware and freeware) where the dev hasn't included the 'yellow star' flag, as part of the scenery compiling, with the SDK tools.

So I find that, when looking at the MSFS world map, where these airports don't stand out in any way, I forget that I have them and never fly to/from them.

So I installed LNM and loaded up the scenery database for MSFS2024, which took about 15 minutes.  However, after this, there are no yellow circles around my addon airports?

There are references to the yellow addon circles in some of the settings fields in LNM but no matter what I tried, I can't get the yellow circles for addon airports to display.

Here's a screenshot that shows the PNW where I have dozens of payware and freeware addon airports in the Community folder. Yet as you can see, none are flagged in LNM with the yellow circles:-

Does anyone know how to get the addon airport indicators working, or does than function no longer work with MSFS 2024?

Many thanks in advance.

You might do better asking in the Little Navmap forum here on Avsim, but I seem to remember that it's something to do with the way the scenery database is built from MSFS 2024. Because it can't do this by scanning the BGL files as it used to in older versions it can't tell the difference between base airports and add-ons.

I think what ConstVoid said is correct.   You can of course manually designate an airport as add-on with the yellow circle around it, by right-clicking on the airport and selecting "Mark this airport as add-on".   I haven't had much luck getting LNM to automatically mark them by reloading the database though.

Ahh, I see.  That's a shame.   At least I know it's not just me being thick, so thanks 👍

Ah, I didn't know that was possible. To be honest, I might look into doing it that way.  Thanks for the tip!

Thank you! I didn't know this could be done - very handy tip.

I manually added every addon airport/airfield I have in the UK 😎  Took about 15 mins. Brilliant to be able to do it manually, and I didn't know this was possible either.

This looks promising.   Thank you.   Here's the link for others:-

EDIT:   Aghhhhh! It requires Addon Linker which I don't use, and don't want to have to set up just for this.

It depends on how many addons you have. Addon Linker installs in two minutes. Adding a hundred addons on your own would take a long time.
