May 28May 28 For all you LSA fans (I think I may be the only one here 😄) Erasim (via their publisher Aerosachs) have released the Tecnam P-Mentor on the MSFS 2024/2020 Marketplaces. The P-Mentor is an evolution of the low-wing Tecnam P2002, focussed squarely on pilot training. Minor improvements have been made to the airframe but the main change is the inclusion of the Garmin G3X as standard. An IFR navigator and autopilot are optional. The P-Mentor uses the same Rotax 912 100hp engine as the P2002.Erasim make a wide range of Tecnam LSAs addons; the P92, P2002, P2008. (As well as the GA P2010). They're not groundbreaking in any way but have very solid, convincing flight dynamics. They make all of their planes with the MSFS2020 SDK, so there's no walkaround or exterior interactables but they are compatible with the current and previous sim. They do include an interactive 'kneeboard' with custom options for the avionics, setting ground statics, etc).Sounds are aliased to the default MSFS LSAs but with additional custom sounds. From a quick flight around the circuit, this one flies very nicely. There's good integration of the G3X and it has PMS and TDS GTN650 compatibility. The Garmin GMC305 autopilot interface is provided, for Garmin's integrated G3X autopilot, the 500X. May 28May 28 Author I wouldn't recommend this, as of this version (they do tend to update their planes regularly).Issues :-They've simulated the Rotax 912iS (fuel injected) engine, which has EFI. There's a permanent fuel pump and a back up pump. The sound level of the permanent fuel pump is crazily loud. And you can't turn it off (even as a convenience) because the engine (realistically) quits if you do. I just can't enjoy the rest of the experience, with this screaming pump running that loud all the time. To give you an idea, it's even too loud and grating if you have headset simulation mode on!Engine RPM is shown on the gauges as prop speed. Perhaps this is an Italian thing but the rest of the world's Rotax gauges show engine speed. I've flown in 30+ planes with Rotax 912 engines and I've never once seen the RPM gauge show prop speed instead of engine speed. Rotax pilots know their RPM number like clockwork. Take off at 5800rpm, back to MCT of 5500rpm for the climb. Cruise between 4600-5400rpm.(A pet hate of mine, with addons that use the G3X) - they've modelled the 'green' arc on the speed tape only running to 100kts. So if you're cruising at 105kts IAS, you're constantly "in the yellow" which is really immersion-breaking. The green arc should run to 120kias. This speed is based on a percentage of VNE and is not related to engine performance. It's over-powered. At power settings in the green range, this thing will cruise at 130 ktas. That's way too high. At 5200rpm it should be doing 107ktas.The annoying thing with the Marketplace and it's encryption - I could fix all of the above myself, if I had access to the CFG files. But it's (currently) Marketplace only. May 29May 29 Regarding those concerns - that's a bummer. I did my flight training in a P2002. It was such an awesome plane to fly! Matthew Maclauchlan

Green arc 50 – 107Normal Operating Range (lower limit is VS1 at specified maximum weight and most forward e.g. with flaps retracted and upper limit is maximum structural speed VNO). Yellow arc 107 – 135Manoeuvres must be conducted with caution and only in smooth air. Red line 135Maximum speed for all operations.

In your model it only extends to 100kts!Why have you come here with such a defensive attitude towards my feedback?Your attitude is quite disappointing here - I gave you simple points to help improve your new product. At first you suggested I go to your Discord. Then you continue replying, getting more and more 'touchy' and defensive. Now I don't use Discord, because of an eye disability, but I have provided you with the feedback here. Why should I need to type it again in Discord?I own every one of your other addons and have seen them improve greatly over the last few years. It's just this one that has some problems that - for me - spoil the enjoyment. They are such easy fixes, and if this thing wasn't Marketplace only, I would have fixed ALL of these issues myself. The reason I didn't recommend it YET is because these issues can't be simply fixed by users, because Aerosachs have chosen to sell the addon only on the Marketplace. If the above small issues were fixed (should take around 15 minutes), I WOULD recommend the addon.Thank you - look forward to the next update, with the reduced volume of the fuel pump. I'm sure it'll be perfect now and I'll be happy to recommend it. I'm part of a group of flight sim enthusiasts in England, who are also Microlight (LSA) pilots in the real world. Once the update is available, we're all going to get the P-Mentor and do some group flights to the airfields we fly to (in P92s, P2002s and P2008s) in the real world 😎 Unfortunately the one P-Mentor (I believe it's the first in the UK) cannot be rented from the club yet - too new and shiny! We all enjoy your Tecnam models (your P2008 II is my favourite, as it's the 'poshest' in the real world!)
