Sometimes P3D can develop weird issues related to the fuel valves.

The fix is to start the sim with a stock aircraft and use Ctrl+E to start it up. Then save this scenario as the default scenario.

Set up Lockheed C130 and saved as default. Still no startup?

Client doesn't offer repair option. I thought I read somewhere that Client can be deleted and re-installed. Just a weird thought.

Repair should be an option. The problem lies with Content but you might as well uninstall and reinstall. Remember to retain your licence when prompted.

Well, now that I think about it, if you can't start the engines, then saving the sceanrio won't work because you need the engines running. This worked for me when I had some planes where the engines wouldn't start. Loading a stock aircraft and starting its engines fixed the problem.

Try opening the Key Assignments menu and using the keyboard shortcut for Engine Fuel Valves(open/close). Then load the stock Maule aircraft and use Ctrl+E to start the engine. Ctrl+E should do this automatically, though, so if none of your aircraft engines will start, then you may just have to reinstall the sim.

What version of P3D are you using? What addons are you using?

Another thing to try. Delete the p3d.cfg file and let the sim build a new one. Sometimes this can miraculously fix all kinds of problems.

Thanks for your input Dave.

Cor I5, 32GB RAM, ASUS RTX 12 GB Graphics Card

P3D v5.0 Orbx scenery, PMDG 737/777, MJC Dash8 Professional, some Carenado S340, Ctitan 404. Active Skye.

I note that the P3D.cfg hasn't replaced itself.

If I have to do another full install I think it will time to quit although the alternatives don't inspire me much.

That users data path doesn't exist on my PC. The prepa3d.config does and I deleted as advised.

I think version is 5.4.

Would I be better off upgrading to V6? Will it work with older addons, Orbx etc. I understand it is not an upgrade as such but a complete new installation.

You have to substitute [Username] with your own login name.

That’s the latest version.

No. Few if any of your addons would work without extensive editing of files.

Your issue is a minor one and should be resolvable. Now you’ve got a new prepar3d.cfg try the Carenado aircraft again.

Performance in V6 is better than v5 IMO, but Ray is right that a lot of addons don't work, and both payware and freeware airports for V4 and V5 must be edited to work right in V6.

If deleting the prepar3d.cfg file and letting the sim build a new one didn't work, I would suggest going through these steps before doing anything drastic:

  1. Set the sim Realism to "Easy" and try starting up an aircraft

  2. Adjust all your graphics and display settings to low or off and try again

  3. Uninstall all your aircraft addons and try again

  4. Uninstall all your scenery addons and try again

If all else fails, uninstall and reinstall the sim.

Latest update:

Reinstalled the sim, PMDG is still the only add on that works properly.

Alabao and Carenado still delivering the same word not allowed. MJC Dash 8 still not connecting to Simbrief downloader.

Who is at fault here? No one is putting their hand up. I am seeking legal advice re getting full refund on these products.

When new software is installed it should be install, go flying. Not try this, try that, oh dear didn't work... toobad.

I've read a lot of your posts and the common denominator for all these problems is you.

All these addons from multiple different developers not working just for you and no-one else indicates that you're either not following instructions properly or have installed things incorrectly.

Legal action / asking for a refund will get you nowhere because you will need to provide proof that their addons are faulty, and you won't be able to because nobody else is experiencing these (constant) issues.

Thamks for your input, i have done many sim installs in the past and never encountered problems all of which have a weired consistency.

I can see where you are comiing from, but I don't agree with you.

I have installed this particular setup several times in te last 3 months, with the same problems occuring over and over. All since new computer.

I agree, legal action was a stupid idea, but I am that frustrated. These issues have a strange consistency.

However I have enough IT experience to know when a problem exists. All the problems originate from 2 developers.

I appreciatee everyone's assistance. I have recently been diagnosed with early onset dementia, so maybe that's the problem.

At least I have the PMDG products which have never let me down.

Thanks to all for trying to help.

Did you install Carenado's P3Dv5 patch? I don't know if it would fix the specific problem you're having, but it's worth a shot.

Also, are stock aircraft still not starting as well? If not, then I wonder if something is getting messed up during installation. When you install the sim, do you disable your anti-virus/anti-malware software?

You have to troubleshoot these problems step by step, eliminating possible causes one by one. You need to try starting a stock aircraft with a fresh install without addons and see if it works. Then install planes one at a time and try again until you find what's messing things up.

That could well be the issue. When I got my new computer 3 years ago everything had to be installed including the Carenado PC-12. I’d overlooked that patch which explained why the aircraft couldn’t follow the loaded flight plan. Once the patch was installed it resolved the problem.

It’s available here.
