I have the Working Title GNS-530 set as the secondary (#2) Nav/Com device in the Black Square TBM 850. I use the TDS GTNxi 750 as the primary, but the issue I'll describe happens no matter what I configure as primary.

The GNS-530 always acts as though it is also the primary Nav/Com. Any changes in either Nav or Com frequencies are also made in whatever the Primary unit is. So, effectively I have only a Nav 1 and Com 1, and no Nav/Com 2. If I put anything else as secondary, it works properly.

I'm not sure when this issue began, so I can't back track to what I might have changed. It used to work properly. I have completely uninstalled/reinstalled and the problem persists.

With the new sound set, I'm wanting to fly this one more, but this issue is driving me nutz. If anyone has any clue as to what I can do to fix this it would be appreciated. I tried posting to the Just Flight forum and didn't get any answers so I thought I'd try here.

I hear ya, but in this case the problem is unrelated to the TDS - that's just what I normally use for the primary. It happens no matter what the primary radio is set to as long as the secondary is the GNS.

I'm not sure the GTNs and GNSs play well together, when loaded into the same aircraft. That's just from memory from trying it a long time ago. 99% of my flights would be using either suite - GNS530 with 430 as secondary, or GTN750 as primary and 650 as secondary.

I can't remember from memory, but can you load the 430 as secondary in the TBM, and does that function ok when something else is the primary? It might be a limitation of MSFS that the 530 is always treated as primary and the 430 as secondary.

Unfortunately, the TBM 850 has probably the most limited options of all Black Square's current lineup. Primary choices are: KX 155B - GNS 530 - GTN 750 (either TDS or PMS). Secondary choices are: KX 155B - GNS 530. No option to use the GTN 650 (which I'd definitely prefer) or the GNS 430 as secondary. The thing is, I swear it used to work fine. But it doesn't matter what I use as primary, if I use the 530 as secondary it acts as com1/nav1 anyway. I'm almost beginning to think I fantasized it working right.

The obvious solution, of course, is to simply use the KX 155B as secondary. As a sim solution, that works OK, I guess. Kinda. Sorta. RW, I wouldn't file an IFR flight plan using RNAV (GPS) waypoints without a backup unit. Funny thing is, a few weeks back I actually had the primary GPS fail in the BS Baron (in IMC no less!) and had to complete the flight on the secondary 650. Easy, since the TDS units support crossfill and the FP was available in either. Would've been a real mess in the TBM with the KX 155 and only slighty less a mess with the GNS 530 unless I'd manually loaded a duplicate FP there and manually loading longer FPs into the GNS units is SO much fun!

Scott this will all change with the latest TBM update where you can have dual gtn 750s.

The gtn and GNS are actually in conflict and should never exist in the same panel

I'm assuming this update will come out soonish. (I currently have it)

I don't have an answer to what is happening to you at the moment though.

That is most excellent news and will be simply awesome! Can't come soon enough, but great to know there's an optimal solution on the horizon.
