Good point, and I can't recall for sure. Maybe one of Mosher brothers can remember - It was their plane, as I recall. ;) The tail dragging seems to have overshadowed the rest of the demonstration. :-LOL

My God!What terribly sad news! Mel was a former SysOp on the Flight Simulation Forum on Compuserve (FSFORUM) which is where I met him. I had seven years on the FSFORUM before AOL and WorldCom swallowed us up and it was no more.My greatest memory of Mell was his heartfelt support for my first ever Round-The-World flight in 1997 where I set the first record for this kind of flight! It has since been well broken by many accomplished virtual pilots, no least those friends of mine from World-Flight in the UK who began their charity work with this event, after being inspired by my effort the previous year which raised

Hello Mike,>>Mel and I remained good friends after our Compuserve days. Weexchanged emails weekly, many times daily, until this last fall, when our correspondence dropped off considerably. I figured it was probably the holidays coming up and whatnot. Not once did he let on to me that he was ill. Now, I suspect that's when his illness really took hold.<< I had no contact with Mel at all really after FSFORUM went away. I lost touch with a lot of our mutual friends - but managed to keep some of them. I have also lost touch with you and Lorraine and your great kids. If you are able to find the time, I would love to hear about how you and your family are and send you some pictures of my family now. Email me at:-leejames[at]f2s.comI still have regular contact with Bob Keating in Ventura and am contacting him with the news. I hope I got the above stuff correct - I seem to remember that Mel was an OP, possibly an Assistant SysOp - its been a long time.Such a wonderful man with whom I conversed regularly on the FSFORUM but was never lucky enough to have that contact after the loss of the Forum. I did have Jeff Hurst's address too and am trying to get in touch with him and with Jerry Rosie to let them know.I do not want to hijack this thread, so please drop me a line if you can and I'll bring you up to date with me and mine.Good to see your still around these parts - We still remember the wonderful time you gave us on our visit to you and Lorraine in San Jose, a few years ago now.Rest in piece Mel. I would never have grasped the complexities of the great 747-400 were it not for you my friend. Many of us here in the United Kingdom know you well and our thoughts are with your family now.All the best,Lee

During housekeeping I found a cd with a compilation of the old Vectors Q&A from Mel.During those days, 1999, he had on another site, flightsim or was it simflight, can remember, a Q&A site where one could send in a email, what he answered online.I kept a lot of them, not all, but a lot! Please read thru the very humorous discussions, and also the memorable loop he did in a read 747 simulator. It is in there!.Eventually, Mel came to AVSIM for a while, but lost interrest. Its on my site, scroll down a bit for the Mel Ott announcement.May he rest in peace.JohanA LITTLE LESS CONVERSATION, AND A LITTLE MORE ACTION PLEASE..http://www.jdserver.mine.nu/johan
