FS9 GPS background

Featured Replies

I remember this topic popping up before ....and wonder did anyone ever suss out how to change the colour of the gps map background...or make it transparent? In the attached pic you can see it has terrain layer on usually it is just black with terrain detail (outlines)I'm trying to make a Garmin GNC module for my Spartan panel and would like the whole gps background to be the yellowy lime colour.I have a feeling this is not possible.....any help mucho appreciated. :)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/106761.jpgregardsEdhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/106762.jpg

Not possible AFAIK.But maybe Jan knows more. He was trying hard to become the map tranparent a few months ago for his HUD.Wolfgang

I tried this once by making a bitmap w/alpha. The main color of the bitmap acted as a "color shift" while the alpha determined the amount of transperancy. The amount of transperency also affected "color shift". In Imagetool the bitmap must be converted to 8 bit w/alpha and the in the XML syntax in the tag for the bitmap include UseTransperancy="Yes".The results were mixed as it acts as a "Color Shift" and not a color "Cover" Regards,Roman(KGRB)
