July 4, 200322 yr jd,Here's another flight for you.SKBO - SKBO after an emergency.(FSMeteo & My Traffic 1.2 for AI)Start: Parked at RAMPStarted RC as normal and contacted Ground. I could hear plenty of traffic, but it was all referenced by tail number rather than airline, so I'm not sure if this was AI traffic or not.Taxi out into line of ground traffic. I was 2nd in the queue. Arrived at hold for rwy and called Tower. I was told to taxi onto the rwy and hold. THERE WAS AN AI PLANE IN FRONT OF ME :(RC got upset when I didn't reply, so I acknowledged its instructions and waited for the AI plane to move onto the rwy. RC didn't respond to it at all.I moved onto the runway and took off. Normal departure procedures from RC. I could here Avianca AI traffic from RC.Declared and emergency and returned to SKBO. (I was hoping to catch an AI plane moving onto the rwy while I was on finals, but it didn't happen)Landed and got the emergency critique from RC. VERY NICE.Did it all again. This time I was number three in the queue for the rwy.I waited until the first AI plane was fully onto the rwy before I called the Tower. This time it knew it was there and told me to hold and cleared the AI plane.RC still didn't know I was behind another AI plane though and cleared me onto the rwy as soon as the first one departed.The AI plane moved first, so I followed right behind it. RC didn't know that either of us had moved onto the rwy. When the AI plane left, I still didn't get anything from RC. I took off and the RC menu's cleared. (I still had my way point info)RC sorted itself out when I had to contact Departure at the normal point.I declared another emergency (I really don't know why I pay these maintenance engineers !) and tried to catch another AI plane on the rwy.Then the whole estate had a power cut and that was it for the night :(What did I learn? Its best not to call the Tower until the AI plane right in front of you has entered the rwy.RC doesn't know about AI plane positions while they are taxiingI should get a new maintenance crew and I should pay my electric bill more often!I hope you have a good week offRegardsMark
July 4, 200322 yr Author Commercial Member this seems to be the biggest problem with beta testers. don't call tower until you are AT the hold short, not when there are 5 planes in front of you.calling tower means, YOU are ready to enter the runway. tower decides whether he is ready. you can not possibly be ready to enter the runway if there are 3 planes ahead of you.thanks for the nice long report.hope this helps the other testersjd JD Read my blog

July 7, 200322 yr jd,While you are airborne, at what range does RC pick up any AI. ?I flew from Columbia to Miami at the weekend and could see a couple of AI planes on similar routes, both parallel & crossing, but RC didn't give me any warnings.I even flew through the Jet Trail of one AI that crossed my path.I'd guess I was several miles behind it at that point though, but I did see it coming from right to left from quite a way out. July 7, 200322 yr just did a quick flight from CYXU to CYYZwhile on final for runway 05 at CYYZ I saw an AI aircraft taxi onto the runway for 23 at the end of 05RC had me execute a 'go around'I then heard the ATC scorn the AI for taking pos on the runway and not holding shortmy co-pilot informed ATC 'were outa here'John

July 15, 200322 yr hi!i just installed 3.1 and the .wav updates, but rcv31 crashes when i try to launch it (fs not running). i am using win xp pro.looking forward to running this version, as all the reports seem great :(cheers,pedro
July 15, 200322 yr If I understand you correctly you are saying your trying to run Radar Contact without Flight Simulator running. Sorry won't work. Flight Simulator must be running.
