June 30, 200322 yr Minor problem. Unzipping the beta to my rc folder wiped out my license key or whatever killing 3.0, 3.01, and 3.10. What file should not have been overwritten?I used the e-mail key procedure to register again and I assume (hope) the key will enable 3.01 and 3.1 so I can switch back if need be.I included my copy of purchase confirmation in the e-mail.Did not have any problem going from 3.0 to 3.01, but that upgrade was only the .exe. I did allow the older files in the rcv31.zip to overwrite all (airport and aircraft data) to insure proper beta file dependencies. Big mistake?So for the next version, what file need be protected?

June 30, 200322 yr JD,Yes I had AI traffic. I use Ultimate Traffic at 90%. I had an aircraft holding short in front of me and was not cleared onto the runway until it had taken off. No need for a go around when I landed as I didn't have one in front of me and another runway was being used for takeoffs. I did notice that for the first time I was not told I was "number two" before being cleared to land. Which was correct because there was nothing in front of me or on the runway.William
June 30, 200322 yr Hi jd, I took a flight from CYYC to CYVR this morning and was cleared onto the active runwaywhile an ai aircraft was holding in front of me. I'll try to confirm with the same flightbut I am sure that this happened on another flight prior. Anyone else reported this happening?Just read your message more carefully. Does the ai aircraft have to actually be on the runway?These ac were holding short prior to the runway. Maybe I'm misunderstanding the message.

June 30, 200322 yr Author Commercial Member if there is a plane in front of you, and not on the runway, then you should not contact tower.you're not "holding short" with several planes in front of you. when the plane in front of you is on the runway, lined up, then call tower. rc tower will see the plane on the runway, and make you wait, then clear you.if you are behind 10 planes, and you call tower, well, the rc tower doesn't know that there are 10 planes in front of you, and clears you to take the runway.bottom line. don't call tower, until you are at the hold short linejd JD Read my blog

June 30, 200322 yr JD,I am presently using version 3.0 and thoroughly enjoy it.If I want to try 3.1 beta, do I need to download 3.01 first, then save 3.0 exc, etc as your directions for that version indicates. Then once completed , download 3.1?If I can skip 3.01, then do I need to save 3.0 exc or will 3.1 NOT overwrite it?Thanks in advance for your help!
