January 19, 200521 yr thanks for the clarification. This might not be the right post but I was wondering if there is any problem with editvoicepack (which speeds up the atc voices and changes the naming convention (from faa to icao I think)).And will AI traffic be correctly shown on TCAS modules (such as driven-by-fsuipc external programs or aircraft tcas).Regards and good workLuca
January 19, 200521 yr Commercial Member i don't use editvoicepack, or any of the default atc voicesai is ai. if the tcas via fsuipc can see it, i can see it via fsuipcjd JD Read my blog
January 21, 200521 yr Hi JD,sounds very promising.Just a few clarifications."Weather delays": if ON, RC will "see" the destination weather as set by user (e.g., via ActiveSky) and start delays when it's going to be "heavy IFR" (low visibilties/heavy snow/heavy thunderstorms) or just "decide" by itself there's a weather-related slowdown, without any weather checking ?"Approach vectors": you wrote they'll be much shorter (good thing if weather is fine). Will there be the option to ask for longer vectors (in case we have to do a cat II/III approach) without asking for a complete approach procedure starting from the IAF ?Can't wait to see RC v4 released !!!!Thanks for your BIG effort in giving us simmer a "real" ATC !
January 21, 200521 yr Thanks for the clarification.I have no idea how radar contact works (as I'm waiting the new version before purchase) and if some questions sound obvious they might not be for the rest of fs2004 users (used to default atc) out there :)RegardsLuca
January 21, 200521 yr Commercial Member argh, someone wants a longer downwind. didn't see that coming :-)enroute holding. if it is set to on, you will always be held, regardless of weather (allows you to practice holding patterns). if it is set for weather, then the weather, number of runways, and time of day will determine when you are held. it is possible, not likely, you could be held on a clear day. holding off - you will never be held, regardless of weather. great for the fmc'ersjd JD Read my blog
January 22, 200521 yr Hi JD,sorry for asking longer vectors...but they could be useful in cat II/III approaches...OK, understood the enroute holding, many thanks. Can't wait for release !
January 24, 200521 yr JD,Do you ever use crossing active runways, and if so do you give land and hold short orders? Also is there any way to add a new airline callsign to RC4?Just curious and thanks for the hard work,Travis Menard
January 24, 200521 yr Commercial Member no land and hold shorts.somewhere in one of my posts, you will find all the callsigns in v4. if you have one you want that is missing, now is the time to speak up, as we will begin recording in the next few weeks.jd JD Read my blog
January 24, 200521 yr JD,Could you add the callsign Moana, its a Hawaiian word, just if that helps with pronunciation incase there is any question. Thanks for the help and sorry to you and the others making the recordings for making the list a little longer than before. Many Thanks, Travis Menard
January 24, 200521 yr jd,I recently ordered RC3 and am a very satisfied customer. It sounds like RC4 will address every one of my gripes, except for perhaps one. The voices seem a little choppy ("Midwest ... 4 ... 1 ... 5"). If you compare them to the MS voices, you'll see what I mean. The MS voices are extremely fluid and sound like naturally spoken dialogue. Just wondering if steps will be taken to reduce the choppiness. Thanks.Carl
