First flight with 4.01

Hi thereI finished my first flight now with the 4.01 and:Good job team, this is how the voices should sound. However, I have one small issue: A FPS drop just at the beginning of the communication between pilot-atc or atc-pilot. It

Try lowering your sound acceleration one notch. You can get to this through dxdiag (select run, then enter "dxdiag" (no quotes)). Look under the sound tab and see if this helps.

Finally completed download.....However, I am finding that the response time between the different contacts are very slow. The actual wave files are faster, just too much of a gap in between.Paul

In fact, if there isn't an obvious fix, I think I will go back prior to 4.01. I tried it again and there is too long of a gap between talking. It was worse on the second try!Paul

Hi Paul, just wondering why you see this as a problem. At least for me it is only noticeable for long instructions (like clearances). Apparently it takes a few seconds to build them together. So in fact depending on the lenght of instruction you even get a variation in response time now, which is IMHO quite nice.Besides that, where is written ATC always responds immediately and there can't be a few seconds in between ?Mike

Where did you obtain the update? I have looked on their site and havebeen unable to locate.Craig

I just finished my first flight with RC4.01. I'm quite impressed with how ATC and pilot voice speed is increased. I see where you're going with this update and I like it.There are 2 things that need to be improved and this would be an awesome product.1. The delay time in responses between ATC and controller2. The performance or fps drop when sound files are being acessed. (This is quite annoying especially when flyiing into a high detailed airport)Keep up the great workLong time supporterBill M

I, like Bill M., enjoy RC4, however we are taken back a little with these challenges. Any words of wisdom to this?Thank you,Paul

I guess only a few people are having these issues. Trying to fly into a heavily populated airport, I had to shut down RC4, to stop the periodic performance drops.Bill M
