Forthcoming update

Hello,I bet many users got their attention to this subject. Allthough I make my wish list anyways :).1. Number 3, change from "three" to "TREE".2. Imidiate take off when there're no aircrafts lined up or on final.3. Imidiate take off after landing traffic. (Include maybe landing company).4. Chance to choose between normal and a bit faster conversations.5. Book a gate and do not allow any aircrafts standing there when arrived. (Now, I tell RC which stand I'll arrive at and in many cases there are planes allready standing there. I bet it is the issue regardning that RC is yet not capable with FS2004's ATC.)6. Taxi instructions - tell which taxiways you need to take. On arrival when vacated and from stand for take off. Now, I got no more for forthcoming update.I will maybe continue feed if I see something usefull. All credits to great RC team! Can't fly without it!Really awesome product. When is the release date for forthcoming update for RC?Many thanx!/Artur

The last guess for the coder, j.d., has been about a year. The menus are being restructured and reorganized as well as ATC responses in order to include new features with more variation between FAA and non-FAA territories. A lot of new coding is required to implement new features (most of the beta team only knows about them when a beta version is released). When the feature freeze is implemented and the coding is nearly complete, I'm sure j.d. will post an announcement here. The ultimate decision about what gets included and deferred for each version is made by j.d. and Doug Thompson, the owner-partners of jdtllc.FS9 and FSX only allow so much status information about AI and User aircraft so work arounds for limitations takes creative methods.Right now we are testing this and that, I can't say what. If a requested feature is deemed feasible it is given a priority based on user request, difficulty in achieving, and compared in priority to the demand for other features.Your requests here are noted and considered. One of the tasks you can do now to reserve a gate is to use AFCAD to give it an very small aircraft radius. In most cases these will reserve it for your larger aircraft unless there is a very large ai aircraft overflow. RC can not reserve a gate from AI occupancy. This is your second post and I thought your first post had a response but I could be mistaken.I can answer for a few of your suggestions:#1: That is achievable if we can get someone to record the .wav collection which the pronounciation characteristics (accent) you desire. You pick the pilot voice to be used and the region you are flying in plus the selection of multiple voices you enable determine which controllers' voices are used.#2: Is in test now. AI spaced far enough out plus the type of aircraft you are flying determine if you get an immediate TO clearance before you even reach the threshold (known as a rolling take-off). You must be close TO configuration when you are told to monitor tower (and acknowledge and contact) if you are fairly near the runway entry area so AI traffic can be assessed at that time. That's all I can talk about from a beta tester's perspective. There is no guarantee that these will be in the product release but my and only my guess is that they will be.

1) we'll try to remember to say tree2) coded, testing3) immediate take off is more of watching incoming traffic, than exitting traffic4) hard to say. maybe ray can play around and speed up all of our voices, and still make them sound natural.5) i guess i could make any plane at your arrival gate disappear as you approach, but i can't control where the ai decide to park6) too complex, too hard to test, inevitably problematicjd

Thanx for the complete answers. One more issue though. Is it now possible to re-configure in some file in the installed RC to start the descent a bit later. All descents starts a bit too early according to me. It starts about 60nm from the T/D point. Is it now possible to change that or is that some non-configurable option? Many Thanx!/Artur

Three to Tree???What on earth for? Any more numbers you would like to change?"Clear to land runway zero tree"............What a laugh hehehe

Dave,You may be laughing - but the reason for the request is simple: ICAO says so!!This is the appropriate text from Annex 10, Vol.2 to the Convention on International Civil Aviation:5.2.1.4.3 Pronunciation of numbers5.2.1.4.3.1 When the language used for communication is English, numbers shall be transmitted using the following pronunciation: 0 ZE-RO1 WUN2 TOO3 TREE4 FOW-er5 FIFE6 SIX7 SEV-en8 AIT9 NIN-erDecimal DAY-SEE-MALHundred HUN-dredThousand TOU-SANDNote.

Not as nice as hving it done automatically, but better than nothing.Joe Lorenc

I listen to ATC-radio a LOT and they use TREE very often. They use something in between THREEE and TREE :)But because RC is a professional addon according to me I made this request and others mentioned above. Those request I simply base on ATC-radio conversations. Some of them are not possible to do, some are. So, buying RC I really appriciated the product and wanted to make some requests here and there :)That's why I wil be a bit ######y once more and remind of the descent-request to start a bit later. In all cases I start descent like 40-60nm before my T/D. Even if I wouldn't use STARS it would be to far away from the Destination. :) Sorry JD for nagging. ;)Cheers folks!

Version five does have a pilot's discretion descent in the works for delaying it. In the PMDG 737NG I am getting descent clearances before the TOD as FMC calculated. As you know the FMC calculates VNAV TOD based on performance efficiency which means an idle thrust descent. I notice however that in practice thrust does not go to zero.If you are using a Boeing FMC based model I also use the FIX page to put a 40 nm range ring around your destination. This is about where you will get your approach entry crossing restriction. I use the descent arcs on the ND too make sure I reach it in time if I delay descent too much adding drag as necessary to keep from overspeeding. Using V/S mode can help.In version 4 if you wish to start down early while still enroute, ask for a lower flight level for now.Your comments I find of interest and constructive user comments such as yours are welcome.
