  1. Howdy(Where the heck can I find CYVR version 4.1 ?)Never mind, I found it !ThanksSteve
  2. HowdyThanks for the tips.Unfortunately when things go wrong with this sim, finding what might be causing the issue can present an overwhelming task for us all. I have so many addons where do I start. My first thought was driver issues, then maybe problems using my LD767 saved flights. So I loaded the FS9 default flight and my problems remained. Only thing left to do was a fresh install and I'm happy to say my first test flight with the Lear45 was great. Tonight I'll reinstall my traffic, mesh and terrain, LevelD767 of coarse and hope it all works.A quick review of the new BENQ 23" widescreen monitor:Looks fabulous!!High resolution picture 1920 x 1200Sharp text2D cockpit does stretch some but still useableIt's the VC environment that is AMAZING !! UNBELIEVABLE!!If it all works in the end, the price and all the work will be well worth it. :-)ThanksSteve
  3. HowdyToday I purchased a new LCD monitor, as my 21" CRT looks good except for night flying, with the new Ultimate Terrain night lights as black appeared slightly dark brown, annoying none the less. Anyway the new monitor is the BENQ 23" 1920x1200 DVI. When I start FS9, load a saved LDS767 flight, scroll through the views, it looks fabulous but all atempts to change settings bringing up the menu with the alt key to change from windowed to full screen for example causes FS to either hang or freeze up. I have tried re-installing new drivers for my ATI X800 XT and deleting the FS9.cfg and it still messes up. I have managed to set FS's resolution to 1920 x 1200 as well as the desktop. I'm running FS on a Athlon64 3400 with 1.25 gig of ram.Sure would appreciate any ideas that might solve my problem.ThanksSteve
  4. I'm thrilled !!!The 1900D has been on my wishlist since I began this hobby 7 years ago. Looks great too. :-)Steve
  5. "this topic has been discussed here many times before"My mistake, I see now that it was originally dated back to August. Somehow my forum preferrances changed and this topic went to the top of the page. Steve
  6. Not to in any way diminish the benefits of this post to those new to this hobby but this topic has been discussed here many times before. Other games can benefit from this type of config file edit as well. Lock-On for example. CheersSteve
  7. I was very disappointed in PSS several months back when I heard they were going to release a A330/340 before patching or updating their other packages. It appeared I was the only one on these forums that felt it made little sense for PSS to discard their 747 and 777 products the way they did. I thought these packages worthy of being on the top of PSS's priority list. Funny they didn't see it that way ?? It's not a good sign but I hope they do get their $#%T together.Steve
  8. I too have been searching the internet for 747 panel dimmensions. I also couldn't get the ftp link to work, it times out on me.If you could please send the files to me at aquafx@hotmail.com I would be very grateful indeed.Steve
  9. Will this software become FS2004 compatible in the near future ?Steve
  10. Thanks for your replys guys.I purchased fsuipc and widefs licences and I'm thrilled it's all working. :-)I will certainly give FreeFd a try.Steve
  11. Howdy I have finaly started building my home cockpit. :-)I figured it was probably best to start my project sorting out the glass cockpit display, multiple computer networking and WideFS, WideView part of things. I downloaded the Project Magenta Demos and was wondering, is there no way of trying it with WideFS without purchasing the WideFS and FSUIPC licences first ?When I purchase Project Magenta does the WideFS and FSUIPC licences come included ?Steve
  12. WOW !! I had no idea these leaked drivers would fix our screen flickers when I posted. :-)I learned of the driver from a post in the Lock-On forum at ubi.com and figured I should pass it on here at avsim. I just got around to installing the drivers an hour ago and now the alt-menu, kneeboard and GPS are flicker free. Thanks go out to who ever leaked them. :-)Steve
  13. Apparently newer than the 3.8'sCheck it outhttp://www.driverheaven.netSteve
  14. 1. Virtual Cockpit isn't complete ?2. VC night lighting doesn't work ?Any official word from PSS why this is happening ?SteveCYYZ
  15. I have the crj using the 2004 version of the lear45 panel. Made a few changes to the panel cfg so as the VC gauges would look okay. It's a wonderful aircraft in 2004.However I am finding that it idles a little fast. I don't really find this a problem when taxing but it does make it a bit more difficult to land.IS there a way to solve this in 2004 ?SteveCYYZ
  16. I have accidentaly bumped the case many times in the past without any affect but recently any kind of impact causes the screen to look all garbled and even shutsdown.Anyone know what is going on ?Is it the MB, video card, or HD's ?SteveCYYZ
  17. The promise on the box that it would work on systems above 450MHz is ridiculous. I think FS will always run best with more computer than is currently available, no matter what version. With each new upgrade I was thrilled at the performance boost but soon again I up the settings, add more addons and again I'm not satisfied. FS2002 didn't work as good as I would have liked either. I have done complete system upgrades several times and yes I am wondering when is it time to do it again. Many of my old systems are still running FS and they run and look terrible. I don't know how anyone could enjoy running FS on any of my old equipment, a 800, 1.3, and 1700. I guess I'm spoiled. :-)I have been quite happy with FS2004 on my current system. Basicaly running everything default but now as I add some more addons I am forced to slider it down some more to get it to run acceptible. My AthlonXP 2700+, 9700 pro, and 1gig of ram just isn't enough anymore. I don't know when they will ever have the hardware to run this sim and it's addons perfectly ??Still have to say I love FS2004 !!SteveCYYZ
  18. Thanks TimI only wish it were possible to listen to the songs even after closing the kneeboard. When I move the kneeboard out of the way a bit I get trails with my ATI card. :-(SteveCYYZ
  19. Hi MarkThanks for your reply. However on my flight tonight to Honolulu Intl I opened the map, chose tower and removed all the vor's and ndb's etc and checked the whole islands area and no tower icon. So I created a plan departing Honolulu and there's a tower icon. So I'm guessing the problem is when we look for the icon at arrival airports ? It would be nice if there were a work around for this other than moving the departing tower to the destination airport.SteveCYYZ
  20. Unfortunately the tower icon is only available for a few airports. The slew option in most cases is the only option. At least that I am aware of.SteveCYYZ
  21. >So the beautiful external models on all these aircraft mean >what...nothing?That's my point, they are beautuful. Just not as enjoyable for those that like flying in VC's and thanks to this post I see I am not alone. To each his own I guess. I understand this sim has many different aspects to it and holds an interest to people for various reasons. Painters, modelers, scenery designers, gauge programmers, and many more. My interest is flying, as realisticly as possible. VC's make a big difference to me. When I see these fantastic new models with complete interiors, hundreds of seats modeled and no VC. I can't understand it. Doesn't mean I think I'm right and they're wrong.SteveCYYZ
  22. I too am glad to see this thread. It's great to see there are many that feel the same way I do. VC's add so much to the enjoyment of flying. I can't be bothered with any aircraft that doesn't have a good VC.I have been throwing out a few hints to the painters in the screenshots forum hoping that we can get some of them painting our default aircraft. I wouldn't count on it though, I think aircraft painters don't really do much flying so maybe they can't relate. Too bad FS2004 couldn't have given them a better detailed model and texture base to work with. It's painfull to see such fantastic aircraft models like OpenSky's and Meljet's, 747's and 777's. IFDG's 767's and the FFX DC10, released without a good VC. One of those things that make you go Hmmm..?? SteveCYYZ
  23. Never had the server problems I'm hearing about but I got fedup with requesting my updates and getting no replys. Then tried the free version of ActiveSky. I don't know, I can't see any difference. IMHO no reason to use anything other than FS2004 weather.Steve
  24. I downloaded it to give it a try, but i get and error when I try to start it. Does it work in Windows XP ?Steve
