  1. Right now I haven't done EPR based engines because AKAIK nobody has figured out how to do EPR adequately to be able to produce real world EPR values for an engine over a wide range in FS. I want to be able to reproduce the actual engine values before I'll do an EPR based engine. I am going to have to do that for the 757 though, so an update for the '67 would be a definite possibility when the 757 is released. Before anyone asks I'm not saying anything more about the '57 right now.Regards,Wade
  2. My programming/testing system is an AMD 1900 with an Nvidia GF 4200. I get good frame rates (low 20s) with detail settings in the medium range. I find that having a lot of memory helps, I have 768megs.It's pretty hard to give a minimum spec because there are so many variables.Wade
  3. This will not be a part of the initial release. We do plan to do this in the future but it is not going to be available for a while after the panel is first released.Regards,Wade
  4. It's because we are always working to the very end. It is just not possible to predict accurately when it will be ready. The earlier you try to predict the more off you are going to be. You can't predict ahead of time how long it's going to take to program something. We try to add as much as we can, so the feature list is always growing and that tends to affect the release date. Every new thing brings the possibility of new bugs that take an unknown amount of time to debug. We tried our best to make it for Christmas but by last Sunday we all agreed that we were just not ready, and that it would be better to postpone it. We gave a date of January but we really don't know exactly when we'll be ready. I'd love to be able to tell you when exactly but I don't know. Nobody does.Wade
  5. The power curve is exponential but that doesn't mean that the thrust lever position can't be engineered to give a linear relationship with thrust. Throttle position is not equal to N1.Wade
  6. Thanks for pointing that out Ryan. That's a pretty major accomplishment I think considering that it's an addon.Regards,Wade
  7. I'm not sure if we will include more than one thrust version, but since all of the performance estimates are based on the actual flight model, substituting a copy of the AIR file with modified engine thrust values should work very well.Wade
  8. When will that be Randy? CHoose one from below:A) "it is just a matter of days", or:( "a matter of 2 to 3 weeks or so", or C) "probably longer than that"Wade
  9. This version has been in steady development since January. Significant development work was carried out the year before. It builds on the code base of PIC767 which was in development for about 2 years, not counting the two patches/updates. There is little remaining from the old freeware.Wade
  10. We control the release date. It will be released when *WE* are satisfied with it.Wade
  11. I can't compare to the other products, I don't own them and haven't seen them. I do believe that the 2D frame rates are better than the original. The CRT motion is very smooth, making it much easier to hand fly with the FD.The VC displays suffer from low frame rates, as do all VCs due to the design of FS itself. MS sacrificed gauge refresh rate to maintain high frame rates for the outside view in the VC. I don't know how it compares to other VCs for the same reason as noted above. We may have multiple VC options, I'm not sure about that yet.Wade
  12. There is no 400 series either in the old PIC767 or the new 767.Wade
  13. Did you notice the screenshot in my post?Wade
  14. That weight was chosen because it is the maximum dry weight that will allow you to fill the fuel tanks without going over max allowable weight.Wade
  15. :-PTo answer your question, there isn't one yet but there will be soon.Wade
  16. This was just a test website and was never meant to be public.Wade
  17. It will be download first, then boxed at some point after that. Mark's answer was simply an attempt to help. He didn't know the answer, but offered the reasonable assumption that this sim would be the same.Regards,Wade
  18. Yes. The original already did that. This version improves on it.Wade
  19. We have had three current 767 pilots testing the sim. Right now we have two because one had to bow out recently due to being dragged of for retraining on a scarebus :-) We've put a lot of effort into getting RW behaviour on such things as engine failure at V1. The yaw effects and performance are very realistic. We also have engineering people who know the systems even better than the pilots would.Wade
  20. I appreciate the report. I just wanted to let you know that there's a LOT of new features that you didn't see :-)Regards,Wade
  21. You didn't notice the full overhead, or the new pedestal with separate ILS receiver, dual comms and audio panel? Or the Winds entry in the FMC, or the smooth GDI+ CRTs, or any of the new systems modelling? There's a lot more besides that.Wade
