Landing lights have this funny effect at dusk
BrzI replied to BrzI's topic in The Official DX10 Scenery Fixer Support Forum
I think I got it sorted out. My NVI Antialias and Anisotropic settings did not match my DX10 fixer settings. Made it x8 across the board and the lights are now OK. -

It is beginning to look like it is airport-specific... -

Don't agree that it is a Windows issue. I have had these pedals for years. Rebooting Windows never got them to be unrecognized. Problems only started when Ubuntu got installed. If I only wanted to stay with Linux I would be content to stay where I am. But as I contemplate constant OS switching I will not settle for the inconvenience of plugging/unplugging my USB pedals ad nauseum. Plus I see that there are more new XP10 add-ons that are Windows and Mac-compatible only. My shiny new Marquise does not jive with Linux. Will try a few more things though.. -

I have added the rules - just tested XP10 and it looked OK...But when I closed Ubuntu and switched back to Win7 my pedals are gone again. The only reason I have Ubuntu is because of X-Plane. Not abandoning FSX, P3DV2 and DCS World. Therefore, I will likely ditch Linux - at least for a few months. Thanks for all your help. Appreciated. -

FPS are good....but because I cannot lock them at 30 I keep jumping between 15 and 60... I sorted out the permissions. All good now. The showstopper is really the rudder pedals throwing my Windows 7 install off too. Once Ubuntu starts and does not see the pedals, rebooting into Windows also disconnects the pedals. I simply cannot keep diving under my desk to reconnect them once I switch OSs. -

Forced to run at 60 FPS. Not as smooth as in Windows 7. Fans are noticeably louder than in Windows 7. Need to keep reconnecting my Saitek rudder pedals. Plus XP10 Demo installation does not set the correct file permissions on the XP10 install. Ubuntu 13.10 is a no-go for XP 10. Anybody else running XP10 on another Linux flavour that is using Saitek rudder pedals without issues ? Bummer . . . No there is not. The only two settings are : -do not lock -lock to monitor refresh rate -

Sorted it out. All good. The culprit was bumblebee. Had to purge it in terminal. Next question would then be : How can I set the FPS to 30 (half of refresh rate) ? Thanks for all the help so far guys.. -

Had the 319 drivers running OK. But decided to take your advice and did the following: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get dist-upgrade Under additional drivers it showed 331 selected. Everything seemed fine. Rebooted "System is running in low graphics mode" OK button. How do I proceed ? -

I ended up doing this: Full install with patches. Ubuntu x64 13.10. sudo apt-get install lib32z1 lib32ncurses5 lib32bz2-1.0 sudo apt-get install lib32z1 lib32ncurses5 lib32bz2-1.0 libglu1-mesa-dev libglu1-mesa:i386 libxrandr2:i386 Select latest tested drivers from System Settings>Software&Updates>Additional Drivers (3.19) reboot sudo ./XP Linux demo running OK with some error messages about files being read-only. I will also need to set rules for my rudder pedals. Noticed that my fans are much louder in Linux than in Windows....work in progress. -

OK. Went for final and installed Ubuntu 13.10 on a separate partition. lspci gives me: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GK104 [GeForce GTX 660 Ti] (rev a1) but About this computer: under "Graphics" I have Driver Gallium 0.4 on NVE4 Fully patched vanilla installation. Under Software & Updates/ Additonal Drivers it says I am using Nouveau display driver from xserver-xorg-video-nouveau (open source) I have these also available : 319 proprietary tested 319 updates proprietary 304 proprtietary 304 updates proprietary If I were to select 319 proprietary tested is there a way to reverse it if it does not work ? Here is what I get if I try to install the demo: Setting draggable to: 0 WARNING: unable to set v-sync; glXSwapIntervalSGI returned the error 6. X-System Error: X-Plane does not support the Gallium driver stack. First, try updating or re-installing your graphics drivers. If this does not help, check your graphics card specifications. My final install will be using Nvidia. Testing on AMD though....seems like it is much more difficult using AMD hardware Why should I use the wildcard? I renamed the installer to XP10 and ran ./XP10 - that should work right ? -

Hi Ironmaiden, Why is it that this command works in 12.04 LTS but not in 13.10: sudo ./XP10 Also, I can find ia32-libs-multiarch:i386 in Ubuntu Software Center in 12.04 LTS but not in 13.10. Thanks This penguin is one weird creature . . . . -

Have Ubuntu 12.04LTS and 13.10 VMs installed. Would prefer 13.10. Has anybody gotten 13.10 to work with XP10 on a 64-bit machine ? -

Clicking on or running the command-line as root on the extracted XP10 installer does nothing in a virtualized Ubuntu 13.10 environment. Tried a few other Linux virtual environments. Not come across any good how-tos for installing the XP 10 demo. -

Tried Ubuntu.. Can't install the XP10 demo on it...maybe because it is on a virtual machine. . . -
If you were to build a Linux PC for X-Plane which Linux flavor would you recommend ? Thanks

And it works seamlessly in P3DV2 for 0$ ..... :-) - presuming you keep your FSX installation.

I am not in favour of the proposed change. I don't like creating more internet identities than I really need. But I will not complain too much if it gets changed. After all, your services are free - we cannot ask for too much for that kind of money. Thank you for asking for feedback. Appreciated. Greetings to the AVSIM team from Vancouver Canada.

You may have graphics driver issues...I would think of reinstalling these

If you check "FS WIndow" it will also be continually visible to full-screen users. Thanks for the tip.
