  1. Let me rephrase the question : Would tweaking any of these fsx.cfg parameters end up using more VRAM (thus improving texture rendering speed - eg PMDG 777 skeleton outisde view) TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT= TextureMaxLoad= MAX_ASYNC_BATCHING_JOBS= SWAP_WAIT_TIMEOUT= Thanks
  2. Just installed my new GTX 970. Did a few flights and noticed that video memory use did not exceed 1.5-1.6 GB. What - if anything - can I do to use up all 4GB on my GPU ? (or as much of it as possible)... Would there be a trade-off ? Thanks
  3. Turned out to be the Saitek X52 throttle mouse cursor. Increase of dead-zone fixed it. Thanks folks
  4. Yes I do have X52 HOTAS Will check that. Thanks for the tip...
  5. title says it all....just started recently... I can think of three things to do : 1. reset fsuipc.ini 2. reset fsx.cfg 3. reinstall mouse software ( I run Logitech SetPoint control center) Any other suggestions folks ? Thanks
  6. Hi folks, it has been a while since I used NI for my DX10 settings. Is NI still relevant ? Seems like it can still do some things that the Nvidia control panel cannot. Can sombody post their NI settings while using DX10 Fixer AA settings of x4 or x8CSAA or x8 ? Thanks a lot..
  7. Difficult to find the right words for situations like this one. Thank you for all your work and dedication over the years. Take care of yourself....as much as you possibly can.
  8. This is now freeware as the original author passed away in a tragic gliding accident. Originally built for FS9....and yes it looked this good even then. Great loss for the Community. Thanks for looking
  9. I am a big fan of the 727-200. A fellow recently released a set of high-def textures for the CS727. For the price of 8.50 euros I though it might be worth a try. I know it takes a long time to create new HD textures from scratch. What I am posting here are screenshots of HD wing views that I added to the standard definition repaints that I have. He may have done too good a job as when I tried a full HD set of textures I got OOMs. I found my sweet spot. My immersion experience is a combination of VC and wing views....and still getting good performance. And as long as I view my externals models with a zoom of 0.8 or less I am not really losing much. See for yourself. You may decide to support his efforts. Think McPhat. Thanks for looking
  10. It is actually a scenery problem in my case. When using DX10 in some sceneries the AI models will not show (they will project a shade though). UNless the scenery developer fixes their scenery you are out of luck. ...or you can default to stock P3D models Have the issue at the latest UUEE.in FSX...
  11. It is not Orbx...It is Operating System-related. Is your FSX installation on C:\ ? If yes, you may want to think about moving it to another disk. In fact - as a general rule : OS on drive C:\ All programs on another drive....
  12. You would need to change user and system variables for your TEMP and TMP settings... Just do a cleanup of drive C:\ and then install anything new from now on to a different drive. It is always good to have at least 10GB of free disk space on C:\ Another thing you could do is put your swap file on any other drive but C:\. That will likely give you twice your total RAM in free disk space. Google for how-tos... Good luck.
  13. It usually unpacks on drive C:\ - even though you may have space on another drive.... Check your drive C:\ Presuming you are talking Windows here... Good luck
  14. No...not really...I compensated by disabling drawing anything smaller than 8 pixels and turning off AA and AF in-game and in NVI. In some cases FPS is even better...and that is on a 2GB GTX 660 Ti OC........ But P3D 2.4 does go to it's knees with 3.0...Will have to scale down a tad...Likely 2.25...
  15. AA and AF turned off in FSX and in DX10 fixer... Monitor has 1920x1200 native resolution...shots are in 3325x2078 Thanks for looking
  16. I am running FSX in 3000x1875 with no issues on my Gigabyte GTX660Ti OC. 2GB. Native monitor resolution is 1920x1200. Did not need to download anything. Within the NVidia control panel you set the scaling to GPU....then create and test some higher resolutions until you get what you need. After I did this I downgraded AA in DX10 fixer from 8x to 4x and changed my fsx.cfg to rejectsmallpart radius from 4 to 6. No FPS loss. No downloads. All stock NVidia drivers. Took me 5 minutes to do. Visual improvement clearly visible. Will need to keep an eye on my GPU now....so far fan has not gone beyond 60%. Thanks to OP for poitning us in this direction
  17. I like this little bird. She is beautifully done. Thanks for looking...
  18. Slight correction. I have discovered that the problem occurs only at the new UUEE from Drziewicki Designs. The same AI model will display fine during the day when in the air (or at another airfield) while not displaying anything but it's shadow when on the ground at UUEE. Problem is with UUEE. Go figure. Hope somebody will find the root cause for this. Thanks
  19. I have the full DX-10 fixer version 2.3. Added some new AI models. They display fine at night, dusk and dawn but the planes become invisible during the day. Their lights show in the day (suspended in mid-air). They will show correctly if I disable" Aircraft casts shadow on ground". But I do not want to do that. Does anybody know of a fix for this issue ? Thanks
