  1. Does FSX do the same thing as FS9 - load extra textures at dawn and dusk ?
  2. The only way I can avoid OOMs on the PMDG T7 in complex add-ons and lots of clouds is to bring down my TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD to 1024...but don't blame the T7....it is a sum total game. Having said that I think it would be good if PMDG were to give us a way to load lower-res textures for the T7 like they did with the NGX. Good luck.
  3. Agree. This has the potential to unseat FSX - easily. I have P3DV2 but will not use it much until a bulk of add-ons (Orbx in my case) is P3DV2-compatible. I expect that will happen towards the end of this year. Till then I will continue FSX-ing... Great shots btw. :-)
  4. Yes, when I run DX9 the anomaly is not present. The airport is somewhere in the PNW area (F1 safe startup flight for complex addons). It is grass. As the Orbx site is down I am guessing I need the previous Orbx libs ? Yep, it was an error in the latest Orbx libs. Installed the interim two files. All good now. Next version of Orbx libs will have it corrected. Thanks folks.
  5. Tried reinstalling DX10 fixer but same thing happens even with a clean install. V1.2 Build 29 (latest available from FSStore) Thanks
  6. I seem to have lost the ability to control the amount of bloom. Using the DX10 fixer sliders for reflective and lights has no effect in FSX. I then uninstalled the libraries, then uninstalled DX10 fixer, restored default ShadersSHSL files and installed latest version of DX10 fixer. Still no change. What am I missing ? Thanks
  7. I see myself moving to V2 exclusively as soon as a bulk of add-ons are made V2 compatible. I do not want to use the migrator tool. So it would be 3 to 9 months from now....
  8. I meant that I would also like to hear how people get their CS727 to work in P3DV2...running it always corrupts my installation and I still do not get all the sounds... I do not want to use the EMT. Thanks
  9. Have to keep applying the hotfix every time I fly this jet. Otherwise she looks just gorgeous...
  10. Plus one. Had three reinstalls. All three times it was caused by the 721 from CS.
  11. Small typo: One of the lines SHOULD read: Run1=READY,KILL,E:FSX\Flight One Software\Ultimate Traffic 2\UT2Services.exe
  12. Find your Prepar3D.cfg file. In windows 7 it should be in C:\Users\your username\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2. Open it with Notepad. Look for this line: SimObjectPaths.8=SimObjects\Countermeasures add the following line under it SimObjectPaths.9=E:\FSX\Simobjects\UT2 Aircraft (your FSX path needs to be correct) If you have FSUIPC add the following section to FSUIPC4.ini file [Programs] RunIf1=READY,KILL,"E:\FSX\Flight One Software\Ultimate Traffic 2\UT2Services.exe" (Refer to page 44 of the FSUIPC advanced user guide) If you don't have FSUIPC you will have to find another way to run the UT2Services.exe file Good luck
  13. I am running a GB 660Ti OC with 2GB GDDR5 on a Haswell 4770k at 4.5GHz. Currently getting very good performance in P3DV2. Thinking of either getting a good 3D monitor or possibly going for a triple-monitor setup... Intersted in what kind of FPS loss I may be looking at in both cases ? I am leaning towards a 3D monitor as I think I may get dizzy using a 3-monitor setup. Ideas/suggestions welcome.. Thanks folks.
  14. Ultimate Traffic 2. Works flawlessly. The way I see it I bought the software for use on my computer. Still using it on my computer as well as running an executable from the FSX installation. So I am still running it in FSX - just displaying in P3DV2.
  15. Based on the very brief experience I have had so far I would say it affects P3D as much as it affects FSX....
  16. Neither. There is no P3D installer as Ultimate Traffic 2 is not supported (or licensed) for P3D usage. My solution is cheap: As I already have UT2 installed in FSX, I did not want to copy all the AI models into the P3D. So I made a symbolic link to the AI location in FSX within the P3D\Simobject\Airplanes folder. I then referenced this folder in the P3D.cfg file. Manually started UT2servcices.exe that is in FSX\Flight1 Software\UT2 Started P3D Fly !
  17. Ultimate traffic in P3D at Vantaa..
  18. Carenado says on web site the C90 is P3DV2- compatible..But installer does not supply P3DV2 option... Also, is it possible to get a full download will all SPs included ? Thanks for any tips.
  19. I think this was a good discussion so far ....so.... is there anybody out there that has any insight into how P3D V2 manages memory...specifically does it unload textures that are no longer needed... Thanks
  20. Well, if that were the case, lowering TM to 1024 should also cause an OOM but - in my case it least - it does not. The only thing I change is TML in the PMDG777/CYVR and with 1024 I get no OOMs...but I do get them with 2048 and 4096...
  21. I have a good rig. Performance is not an issue. OOMs started happening when I tried the PMDG 777 in CYVR. The FPS would still stay high but monitoring VAS usage I hit 3.2 GB very quickly. I could maybe do a takeoff but coming back for an emergency landing would OOM on me. This is not a hardware issue - it is a limitation of the 32-bit environment. Don't get OOMs with the NGX - or any other add-on. Of course, if I have clear weather, it will not happen - but Vancouver is one rainy city.... The only surefire method of eliminating OOMs with the 777/YVR combo for me is to reduce TML to 1024 (even 2048 will OOM on me). This is why I will not be buying P3D - at least not for now...
  22. I am quite happy with FSX so far....don't think I would switch unless it is a 64-bit application... Does anybody know ? Thanks
  23. They released a patch which dealt with my OOM errors. I love the colour warmth of the product even though it may look overdone to some people. FPS-wise no issues. Recommended.
