  1. Hi, I'm still having problems trying to download my update. I'm gonna try to get it downloaded from work, where i can try and use the broadband service. If I can't i'm going away over crombo, so won't be able to download anyway.I have a 56k modem, but when it connects, i'm only getting about 45.5kbps, at the most around 46.6kbps. The main problem with my connection (through btopenworld) is that it is supposed to auto-disconnect after 2 hrs (that takes the P*** at the best of times), but for some reason, it goes, over, sometimes to about 3 1/2 hours, and by that time, DAP almost has it completed, but it then disconnects! (I'm asleep while this happens so i can't reconnect, so I lose the download :-( :-( :-( :-( )Anyway as I say, i'm gonna try from work, if not, after crimbo with my setup again.
  2. You can download the fs navigator/pmdg export module from the pmdg site, which will convert you flight plan into .rte format for the FMC. Youcan then let the automatics of the B737NG do the rest - its way way better than the autopilot feature of FS Nav.www.precsisionmanuals.com/downloads
  3. Same problem here, i'm on dial up, i've tried downloading 4 times now amd i'm getting nowhere. Are the servers still 'that' busy? DAP is having problems connecting to the site, constantly switching between the server locations (waiting for reply and connecting to site) every second. site 1 has d/l just over 3mb, the others nothing at all.I'm not one to complain, but on this ocassion, having multiple small download files would have been nice as well for us dialup usersGuess i'll have to keep waiting and trying :-)
  4. I wish prices were like that in the UK! I'm still on dial-up as I think highspeed broadband network prices here are WAY over-priced. BT offer a 512Kb service for
  5. Since I mainly fly the PMDG B737NG, most of my flying is now around Europe. When I installed FS9, I haven't bothered transfering some of my Sim-Flyers scenery's arcoss, so I now don't fly to places like KDFW and other US destinations. If a long-range airliner comes along to the standard of PMDG's B737, I may make some long-haul trips across the pond (Well, when they release their B744 :-) )
  6. I may be wrong, but I think it is becuase the B737NG being an extremely complex aircraft, so therefore cause a pause as the plane and FS start to load up. :-)
  7. Excellent, thanks for that, I intend to make a flight to EHAM asap, if i can ever get 1.2 downloaded :-)
  8. YAY only another 61h+ to go :-loloh well, maybe next week haha
  9. HiNot having a go at any one here, just want to vent some of the anger :-(Was downloading SU2 last night with DAP on dial-up - VERY VERY SLOW!!! and had it about 90% completed. Just come to resume the download only for it it to start all over againI was really hoping to take her for a spin tonight, guess i'll have to wait since i'm not getting in at the mo.Anyhow, that over with, I can't wait for SU2 as the flight i took last night in 1.2 was fantastic - EGKK - GCTS.
  10. You shouldn't have had 2 entries like that, but you could have just deleted one, rather than uninstalling/reinstalling. Try deleting one, making sure that in the cfg, gatwick is the last entry and that the area is and the layer=64. I would post in the OSS forum, they gave been really helpful with problems like these, if this fix doesn't work.www.flyoss.comHope that helps :-)
  11. I too would love to see a B777, as they created fantastic versions for FLY! and FLYII, which I really miss. However I would really love to see a PMDG quality B747-400 for FS (which has never been done IMO). You have to remember that these folks wrote a great manual for PS1 if im not mistaken, so they would know what their on about. By the time they'd finish the 747 anyway, I would imagine the next version of FS would be round the corner, so development of another 'complex' airliner should really wait for that, they could fill that gap 'between sims' with a general aviation aircraft for something, IMOAnyway, I can't wait for SU2 and the -800/900 phases :-)
  12. There was an AI traffic SDK for FS2002, I believe it was one of the first ones released (just after traffic tools had be released :-lol )
  13. About time :-lol I'm waiting for the AI traffic SDK, I'll have some fun with that :-) - Guess I've only got to wait about 2 months :-lol
  14. bumpAnyone? heheand if you wanna add me to msn, same address :-)
  15. Thanks Simon, thats great, in fact i needed some of those other sid/stars on your site too :-)
  16. Are there any available for Tenerife GCTS, i'm planning on a flight down there soon :-)
  17. Does anyone know anywhere else I can get hold of this scenery, as I've tried downloading from the ISD site, but it doesn't load the page. I've tried emailing them, but i've so far had no reply. If anyone out there has it, could you send it to me at alaister1@btopenworld.com or perhaps you could link it to a website so that I could download it :-)Thanks
  18. My thoughts:-http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...topic_id=162153What do you think?Regards
  19. Cheers for the thoughts guys :-) I thought this may attract a bit more attention, any more from anyone else?Yeah a system like this would mean ATC would use the same navdata that your FMC would be using, therefore no ATC route conflicts or IFR cancellations. Also i like the idea of defining the database in XML format since it would be available to programmers (well after a 6 month await for an SDK :-lol )
  20. Hi, was reading on the Dreamfleet forum and found a quote from Lou Betti"Yes, I feel that data base updates should be paid for, however the problem remains getting a complete and reliable data source (Jepp has an exclusive with MS, so you cannot go to them). Only with such a source, and the money from subscriptions to pay for maintaining it and updating it would you be able to have something close to what is available in the real world."I was just thinking, why don't MS and Jepp form a system were by you can pay a subscription and download monthly updates to an internal nav database, which can be accessed by all 3rd party developers so they can use it for their products? It would mean realism is maintained and there would be a central place for the developers to pull the data from, rather than, as in the past, each using the fs airac updates, but each having their specific needs. The downsides I can think of though would by the obviously high prices of data (but if enough subscribed prices could be kept low), and whether it is a wise idea to have up-to-date data available to all, as what MS use from Jepp is old, out dated data.Any other thoughts? What do you think MS? you and Jepp would make some big $ out of it :-lol
  21. Cheers for that :-)I dunno where i've been hiding, but I don't remember seeing that being released, oh well, i'll have it soon :-)
  22. Does anyone know of any Malta (LMML) scenery for FS9, freeware o payware? if there isn't yet, is there any in the works?
  23. Hi, does anyone know if there is any malaga (or around the southern part of spain) landclass files? and if there are, where can i find them?cheers
  24. Hi folks, what sort of download size are we talking about here?, SU2 seems to be a complete rebuild almost? I hate dial-up heheI had the most pleasing flight today from Gatwick to Malta in the 737, I can't believe its gonna get better! - However I did notice at one point that when in the VC and I opened up the FMC, the PFD stoped updating! anyhow, i'm going to bed now, hoping its not to long before SU2Cheers
  25. Well, is there really anything else out there that can match this bird? WELL DESERVED PMDG!!! and things can only get better with SU2 + the future versions
