  1. Yep I also have to agree with you about the sound. I went so far as to check the sound config file to make sure it wasn't ailised to the 172 it was so tame! I have flown a DC3 (right seat)and believe me it's a LOT louder than what we are hearing... Hey Bill, how about some balls for the R4D again?? Mike B.
  2. In theroy you can. I have done an outside view on a second monitor (I run 4 monitors) BUT your system will come to a screaching halt. Due to the resource requirements of displaying scenery, outside views must be done with another computer running WideView or other like programs. The "other" computers in the network need not be hot runners so look for some second hand systems at the swap meet and build those "views". Mike B.
  3. Hi Bill: Good going... Got it today and have made a few short hops with it. I can't wait until you get bombarded with "I can't steer it!" comments....lol.. Steers real nice with differential power and brakes.. Now if I can just find the lock tail wheel control.... Going to try to fly formation with the B25 on my home network here if I can make the b25 stay in the air that slow...lol What happened to the "growl" of those engines?? Seems a bit on the tame side as far as the sound goes... Mike B.
  4. What's the deal? I Pre ordered on May 30th and just checked my account and my CC was charged only yesterday?? People that preorded on 6/8 already have theirs?? How did that happen?? Grumpy in North Carolina (Mike B.)
  5. Lemme get this straight. You gave up PFC gear for CH Products stuff?? Could not handle the serial attachments?? I'm confused, it only takes one serial port for all three devices I have connected..Hmmm.. I am not sure where you got the idea the problem I am experiencing is on the ground?? Control Wheel Steering is NOT for ground handling...Lol.... It is the function where you roll/pitch the plane to some attitude and CWS will maintain that attitude until you either turn it off or roll/pitch to another attitude. It is an autopilot function...Has nothing to do with "ground steering"... Thanks for the reply.. Mike B.P.S. Anyone know how to disable CWS when the CMD function is enabled??
  6. I have a minor problem with the control wheel steering in the 800/900. First off I am using the PFC JetLiner console, JetLiner Yoke and PFC pedals, all connected via serial port, not USB or game port. If I have the auto pilot turned off the plane handles smooth as silk however if I simply turn on the "CMD" button with no other modes selected then I can "feel" what I assume is the CWS fighting the roll axis when I try to make turns. The PFC equipment uses their PFC.DLL module to interface to FS9 and as such does not show up in the "options/controls/joystick" menu selection. Somewhere in the 300+ pages of documentation I have a hefty 3 pound manual!) I thought I saw something about CWS and how to make sure there was no conflict but I have searched untill I'm blue in the face and can't find it again. Anyway to disable CWS? The plane handles so nice without it I wouldn't mind living without it (CWS). By the way, you guys really nailed it with the 800/900, what a pleasure to hand fly an ILS in crappy weather with it. Thanks, Mike B.
  7. Humm.... Not worthy of a response?? Oh well.. Mike B.
  8. I've tried everything I can think of but I no longer have left engine noise in cruise. I have it in reverse thrust and startup but not in normal cruise. (or idle) I have removed and re-installed but the same thing. I used to have it but the loss seems to be about the time of the update. The 1900 is the only aircraft I have this trouble with. Any ideas?? Mike B.
  9. nd oh, by the way, there is no hot spot for the marker switch on the radio panel.. Mike B.
  10. What's up guys? I haven't seen ANYTHING posted in weeks. The R4D still going to be released or what?? Mike B.

    737 Yoke

"Mind if I ask how much that cost you?" One wife, one house, a good retirement and other hidden "costs".. Here is their web sight.. http://www.flypfc.com/ Yep, RFP in the display although I don't fly it much. "Too intense". I prefer the twin jets mostly. My current favorite is the supurb Citiation X by Eagle Soft, followed by the Beach 1900 by thses folks.. Mike B.

    737 Yoke

I flew with the USB CH stuff for many years and there good. The PFC is on a whole different level though and now I REALLY feel like Im doing the deed... Mike B.
  13. Hi Bjorn: I don't own the MCP (might have to look into that) but I do own the PFC jetLiner console that sends it's own commands to FS. Using the very latest FSUIPC, Peter has included and VERY nice facility for customizing external devices and make them send what ever you want to FS. You might look into the button and keys facility in FSUIPC and you might be able to make it play with PMDG. You can make each airplane a unique set of commands using it.. I have made my JetLiner play almost 100% with the PMDG bird and I love it. Try reading Petes documentation on the FSUIPC and try his examples. Pick some function on the MCP and see if FSUIPC "sees" the control/switch, if so you are in business. If I can help you in any way to get that going let me know and we can maybe set up a RW channel.. Mike B.
  14. I run 4 monitors using a dual head Radeon 8500 for two and two Radeon 7000 (32 mb) PCI cards. System is a 2.5 ghz Athlon and 1 gig of DDR ram. No stuttering or pauses with all sliders maxed out...(full screen mode by the way) Mike B.
  15. Ok, I got the plane and it's a dandy for sure ! Well done PMDG. Now, for you real world comuter pilots/dispatchers. How do the airlines utilize the B1900D? What do they consider the ideal routes for this plane?? What kind of a day does the pilot have?? RON somewhere or come home every night? Multi stops?? How long is the longer routes for this guy?? What kind of crusing altitude do they use in real life?? Anyone know of real world flights for United Express?? This short haul stuff fits right into my free time for FS... Need to start making some revenue for the airline.. Mike B.
  16. Hi Tom: Ok, great. I have played a bit with the twin prop throttle and telling the DLL it was the twin turbo prop and it works "ok". The throttles in the Jet Liner console are "upside down" from the desk mount consoles so I asked them (PFC) if they could simply re-asemble the twin prop throttle upside down and they tried it and it worked fine. Then I asked them if they could do that with the turbo prop throttle and they insisted they can't because of the detent mechanics so that is why I have been asking for a picture of it so I can see for myself. At first they told me the twin prop quad couldn't be reassembled for the jetliner but I kept asking to talk to someone else with a more positive "can do" attitude and finally got someone that scratched his head a minute and said, sure, we can do that. I can't seem to get that guy anymore...lol Anyway, I have not heard about the NG throttle, tell me more... On the Jetliner console and PMDG NG. Yea, works great. With the new update they now have a list of keyboard commands for the MCP and other goddies and it's a simple matter of assigning the knobs/switches (in FSUIPC)to the correct sequence and you're in business. I LOVE MY JETLINER CONSOLE - PERIOD.... Mike B.
  17. Anyone out there using the PFC equipment in any form that has their quadrant? If so what do you plan on doing to make the 1900D turbo prop throttle operate like it is suppoosed to? I have the jet liner console and it does NOT support their turbo prop quad. I did some playing around with the 2 engine prop quadrant and it "works" but no detents and the prop and condition levers are really too short. Another question is does anyone have their turbo prop quadrant and a digital camera?? If so could I impose on you to email me a close up picture of the inside of the quadrant.. I had PFC rebuild the 2 engine prop quad for me and maybe I can do the same thing with the turbo prop quad.. Thanks for any help out there... Mike B.
  18. Great wallpapers Vin. Does American Airlines (Express) use the 1900D?? (United Express is proudly displayed on ALL 4 monitors) Mike B.
  19. Networked PC's?? I can do that with my in house network but the only problem is I am the only one who knows how to fly!! LOL. I have to launch one and put it on a heading and then RUN into the next room to get the other one airborne and try and catch the first. Whew.... too much work. I have a third computer on the network but can't see how I am going to get all three in the air at the same time.. (Like juggeling...) I need to "hire" some more pilots... Mike B.
  20. Wow! That's all there is to say. Got the scenery and loaded it up (piece of cake) and fired up BT and took her for a spin. At first I thought there may be a problem in the scenery because for the first five attempts to fly/taxi around the area the computer locked up every time. However I got a error message saying the ATI graphics was the possible cause of the lockup. I downloaded the latest drivers from the ATI site and SO FAR all seems to be fine. No problems... The hanger doors blew my mind... What a great touch...lol I now have BT parked inside... Forgot to check out the new startup smoke etc.. I do however now live in the country with no neighbors and I have a 100 watt stereo system hooked to the computer and I know how to use it!! I'm sending the bill for the new windows to MAAM.... HURRY UP WITH THE R4D GUYS!!! Can't wait to fly her again. The default DC3 is pitiful... Need a round enging fix every day Bill, hook me up.. Mike B.
  21. Well I finally had a chance to play with the update and am I ever loving it. The flight director is terrific!! I finally have a FD that I can actually fly an ILS approach using the FD cues and not wind up somewhere other than the airport! Amazing. An answer to one of my other posts solved the multi monitor problem nicely. Seems the panel select icons do someting that multi monitors don't like. A gent suggested using the keyboard to select the overhead and then undock it and drag it off and that works perfect?? PMDG, you might look at that although it is easy to work around... Love the new sounds, much nicer and I see now we have a volume control for the warnings etc.. Nice touch. And KEYBOARD commands. RIGHT ON !!!. Now I can re-program my JetLiner console to operate the plane... cool.... Thanks for that one... Now the question: The little circle (not sure of the proper name for it) on the ADI appears to be similiar to the "trend" vector in fighters. Is that what it is and if so how is it supposed to be used?? Do I chase the vector with the FD crosshairs or what?? Can't wait to see how you top this NG, but I'll bet the 747 does !! Keep up the good work.. Mike B.
  22. Good deal ! Earlier (first version) someone came up with a fictional American Airlines livery for the NG, any chance we will see that again for the SU2 bird?? Mike B.
