Problem with Logitech Yoke
RichD replied to chickster25's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
If it is when you first hit fly now, assuming it is flying, turn autopilot off. -
It seems there is hope after all.

It could have very well been the case. I'm not an expert. I just use them. I know the msfs does not like resolution changes or HDR changes but I'll live with it. -

Look's a bit better and seems to run smoother. But remember, each computer is different, worked for me, but might not for someone else. I took a chance. -

Just to update, flew around my home town of Hereford UK and weather was as close as it could be, the same at Cardiff. At the moment, I am a happy man 😁 -

I'm saying it's just the weird randomness of MSFS. I did nothing to try to fix live weather (not my job) as I know nothing in that regards. I'm about to fire msfs up for the first time today, lets see what happens. Will let you know. -
Just last week, my MSFS lost the ability to 'represent' the correct weather for any part of the world (UK mainly) for some reason, the air pressure was there but nothing else. It also started messing with my logitect control's, msfs would crash, then on restart...... nothing. Yet, if I started X-plane, without a computer restart, Logitech worked like nothing was wrong.. The same with FSX. Anyway, to get around the weather problems, yesterday, I started to use the weather presets, storm, rain and overcast being my favourite's. I got to notice that, if I loaded any of these when setting up a flight, it would crash just before I hit the fly now button, yet, if I started with clear weather, it would run and allow me to then select the present's and ran OK. Now it get's interesting. Today, I was 'invited' to upgrade to Windows 11, and thought 'why not, msfs is not playing ball, what could go wrong!' After 40 minute's of updating, Windows 11 presented itself to me and we had a short conversation about how, if it didn't work well, it would be off to pastures new, and Win 10 would be back. After 20 minutes checking all was good, I thought I'd fire up msfs, and was about to put a hammer to it, as msfs failed, again for the same reason. I gave it one more try, this time clear sky's, and she flow, load fast and seemed to look better. I then loaded storm and I was really pleased with the result. After a few minute's of lighting bolt's trying to blast me out the sky, I thought I'd try live weather, and blow me down, it worked as it should, pressure, wind even cloud's. Who would have thought. Nice, and yes, she is an F model. Probably seen the Hollywood film, where they used a G model (Sally B) with the chin turret.

Thank you for the advice guy's. My C drive is SSD 500 Gb with windows 10 on, never heard of NVMe, I'll have to look into that.
-
Hello everyone, I am needing some advise, and who better to ask than you. Having updated msfs with the latest (su7), I find that my HD (500gb) is pretty much full and I have not got the room to update other parts of the sum, for example, aircraft. Now, I do have a second HD (2tb), but that dedicated to all my other sims I use. I am going to add a third HD, a 2tb, but do I get a SSD or HDD, how easy/difficult is it to fit and how easy/difficult is it to move msfs to it. Many thanks in advance Rich

Did as you suggested, same result but thank you for your time.

Hi Glenn, just did that, no difference, but thank you anyway. Rich

Update off, still ctd, but thank you
-
Just tried your instruction, not having it. Got to ui and ctd. Thank you though.
-
I'll give it a go, thanks

It's not temps. Ran MSFS for two hours, ultra high. Temp stable at 71 degrees. Maybe so, but I got a responce. I am not the only one this happening too. Like I said, turn on the PC and MSFS loads to the ui, then just ctd. Install another NVIDIA driver and the Sim will run, run at full graffic setting with no problems, but restart the pc and I have to change the nvidia driver again and then all's fine again until I turn off pc. FYI, I run a X-Plane 11, Euro/American Truck, and others with no problem at all. Any help would be good, thanks.

Done that. last time was 6 hrs

Hi Guys, Has anyone got any idea why, when I turn on my pc, MSFS loads as far as the UI, then CTD. Install another griffics driver (older), MSFS runs fine. Restart pc and back to square one, every time. oh yeh, only add on is JF Pa28 Warrior II, and it makkes no difference whether on not it's installed. Rich

Did it have anything to do with the traffic software by any chance? -
Let's give Update 5 a fair assessment!
RichD replied to Matt B's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
A bit harsh. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, and if 4 or 5 other people have posted on it, so be it. -
Now, I'm the opposite, Warrior 2 over 152, pity some one took it swimming. RIP N8466G

"spastic noun [ C ] uk /ˈspæs.tɪk/ us /ˈspæs.tɪk/ offensive old-fashioned someone who suffers from cerebral palsy (= a condition of the body that makes it difficult to control the muscles): He was born a spastic as the result of a difficult birth. offensive informal a stupid or clumsy person" As a person who has this, I have no problem with the word. I was under the "Spastic Society" growing up in the 70's. The SS (oh dear) has since changed to Scope. I personally don't find the word offensive but I can understand those who do. I'm sure the op meant no offence, so give him a break. Rich -
I'm so so sorry Colonel X, I was just trying to help a fellow flyer. Anyway, Bryan, sent you a private message.
