When looking at the following picture you see a box I should be able to see a capture and fill in info too. However I can't enter anything, no capture exists, nor can I move the screen. Also sometimes it may be behind the larger screen that says preview unavailable in it. Apparently when I select alt-PrtScnis it not capturing anything? When I run v or PrtScn everything works fine as those things are intended within FSX. I have the latest ActiveSky 2012 with SP2. The rest of the program, so far works exactly as advertised. I have FSX with acceleration installed using Win 7 64, PMDG aircraft non-registered FSUIPC but no other addons. Not sure its a program issue even though I am running SP2 Beta. I have a dedicated drive for flt sim and Active Sky is not in the FSX folder but is on the same drive. Nothing to my knowledge is on C:\ 486x (or whatever) because the install went without a hitch. Have all the Word Not Allowed recommended fixes, etc. and past memory errors in FSX have been fixed. FSX appears to be running well. Any help would be appreciated.

I use 8 and that is plenty. Be sure you have a good graphics card however. I use a GeForce GTX 560 Ti and this seems to be working. There plenty good ones out there.

I had this same problem plus some striped red squares around the airports. Word Not Allowed helped me alot. For the latest Word Not Allowed as describe by aceridgey go to his blog. It will not hurt to run the program. For now since that change I have not experienced any CTD. The combination of that and Word Not Allowed's info appeared to have worked for me. You may want to try this and if it doesn't work it won't hurt anything. The information "Exception code: 0xc0000005" means there is a memory error(out of memory) of some type. I used the Fixit help rather than messing with my registry (It's just easier) at the following Microsoft url and it worked for me but no guarantee this will solve it for you. c0000005 is a memory error I have seen in other posts. To quote firehawk44 "Each one shows the Exception Code 0000005 (Memory_Access_Violation). This exception almost shows up in every FSX CTD and it happens when FSX is looking for a texture, a gauge, an effect to load or render and cannot find it."

Per instructions from this forum I have listed a report below involving four CTD. In general these were happening when I was learning the PMDG NGX tutorial 2. This occurs after periods of time (< than one hour). The problem I don't think is PMDG rather it's me to the extent that it takes me awhile to work through it so the machine is kinda sitting there as I read and enter data. Got through tutorial one with no issues. In all cases I had not gotten into the air but not because of the program. Attached is some eventviewer info on the 09/15/2012 crash. I am hoping that someone can help me with this. The pictures pretty much explain themselves. Hardware Intel DZ68BC board, I5-2500K , 8GB ram, Windows 7 64 bit, and EVGA GeForce 560Ti. Also using FPS Limiter. The location is Schiphol. Note some buildings missing. This happens at other airports but my little airport and others appear OK. This happens in both Europe and North America only places I have been to so far. Also before all this showed those weird red stripes were there but not all airports. Did have ORBX Demo installed but removed that before these screenshots. The stripes were there before that was installed. Recently downloaded PMDG 737NGX(love it) but don't think that's a problem. I too think this is an excellent package. Being somewhat new I find it challenging but not over whelming and for me very close to real. Thank you for the effort. I have one question and that is can you change the range distance on the EFIS or is that just the way it is designed? I could not find a place to do that. Thank you. This is using the VC.

I forgot to add that I get a Not responding in the task manager and it sends the following error messages

Got FSX and it installed fine that is to say the machine rebooted automatically and there were no error messages. Can't remeber seeing a screen saying installation complete nor did I necessarily expect to see one. I wanted to start it without activation to see if I would need to upgrade my hardware. After I got past remind me later and hit the finish button the program hangs. the activation screen goes away and the background screen is there but nothing loads. There was some disk light activity for a few seconds then nothing. I am able to close everything out with task manager and set an error report. Tried safe mode but can't access to the finish button because of fixed graphics mode in safe mode (unless there is another way. I have XP Home SP2 and Norton, but with that disabled the issue remains. I have IE 7.0 and had an issue with it and FS9 that required a file change, but don't know if this is an issue here too. Any help I would appreciate. Thank you
