    BLIND ATC

From yahoo news probably wrong forum I leave it for others to commentPolitically correct? JohnLONDON (AFP) - A small British airport advertised for an air traffic controller -- and offered those interested an application pack in braille, media reported Friday.(Advertisement)According to the website for Saint Mary's Airport on the Isles of Scilly, off the southwest tip of England, controllers need to be able to keep a close eye on the changeable weather as their work "is not over-dependent upon very costly and sophisticated electronic equipment".But applicants for the job could still ask for an application pack in large type, braille or audio format, newspapers said.A spokesman for the local council said the wording was included on all job advertisements, while the Royal National Institute for the Blind praised its "good practice".

  4. Hi I have both FSX & FS9 both within microsoft games directory on the same drive using tileproxy does not cause me any problems. If you point your FS9 scenery to the the tileproxy world folders for the areas which have bmps created surprise surprise they work, watch out for effect of addons maybe better with a plain install. I can now fly as you are with a decent amount of autogen moving cars ai traffic boats etc. It is now on the hard drives for keeps. Forget frame rates tune for smoothness System Packard Bell Imedia Pentinum dual core 2.8ghz 1gb ram Geforce 6600gt John Ayr Scotland
  8. Hi running XP home and Vista RC1 (titled as windows vista ultimate) on separate drives.Simulator runs well on both systems it may be a wishfull thinking or imagination that it runs slightly faster and smoother on Vista frame rates abut the same but appears more fluid on Vista.I am using the microsoft drivers as supplied with Vista as Nvidia drivers for Vista cause severe corruption in the sim.Dxdiag reports DX 10.Hope this is usefull John (bj545)
