The lead-in lights are awsome, gotta go and practice practice and practice some more :-)Cheers,Petehttp://members.aol.com/pzsoulman/myhomepage/logo.gifAMD64-3400,1GB/2700DDRAM,WinXP(SP2),DirectX9.0c,Geforce6800(128MB)(Det.71.89), CH Yoke/Pedals I9-13900K, RTX 4090, DR5-6000MHZ, CORSAIR ICUE H150I ELITE, ASUS PRIME Z790-P, THERMALTAKE TOUGHPOWER GF3 1350W, WIN 11
April 23, 200620 yr Here's the link :http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=&Name=&FileName=kaitak98.zip&Author=&CatID=rootWonderful work! ...whatever I was supposed to do today will have to wait! :9I do have a query though .... there looks to be two landclass files in the Kai Tek scenery folder.Should'nt these be in a folder of their own ..i.e in a landclass/scenery folder that does not have a texture folder.I have found that not doing so causes memory loss problems. regardsEd My FS9 Videoshttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/edetroit100/holy.gifAMD Athlon 64 3500+, 1024Mb PC3200 DDR, 300Gb HD 128Mb DDR Nvidia 6600GT PCI Express, Audigy 2 ZSCH Products Yoke, Pedals and Throttle Quadrant My FS Videos
April 23, 200620 yr EdI should have specified an option for the mesh/LC files for those that get memory problems. You can create a sub scenery folder in Kai Tak 98 and place those files into it.There are 2 LC, 1 WC and the 2 Hong Kong mesh.
April 23, 200620 yr Nice work all involved. I'll have to set MyTraffic back to 1990 and build traffic files but can't wait to see it in action ;). Looking forward to the 1960 version in a week or so to put into my Silver Wings/California Classics installation. April 23, 200620 yr Finally smooth flying into Kai Tak again thanks to high FPS ! And seeing the AI planes now coming in correctly on the IGS 13 is super - I was just doing a short flight today and than I was just sitting there and watching. Thanks very much, Jim, for this great scenery. Thanks also to Holger and Tom for their contribution to make this scenery even better. Ciao, Peter
April 23, 200620 yr Commercial Member Really good work guys. The Approach Light System is nice and how did you create a dual PAPI 3!?!?. But the kicker is all the Nav aids. That is superb Jim. A LOT of work you did in such a short span of time. You'll finally be able to stick your head outside and see the real-world again! :D(What!.... Mark hasn't posted yet!?!) April 23, 200620 yr Commercial Member Really cool guys!Am I correct in assuming that all the navaids are now essentially the same as anything else that's hardcoded into FS? (ie, if I wanted to make a VHHX SIDSTAR file for our 747-400, it would be able to correctly tune the navaids etc?) April 23, 200620 yr Hi,To move traffic from VHHH to VHHX you can use a utility like AI Traffic Mover, but it's easy to do yourself:1. Decompile your traffic file with TTools.2. Rename all three files by adding an X to the end of each file name (example: flightplans_myplans.txt to flightplans_myplansX.txt).3. Open the flight plans file in Wordpad.4. Using Edit/Replace, change all instances of VHHH to VHHX.5. Save the file.6. Open the airports text file in Wordpad.7. Add this line to the bottom:VHHX,N22* 19.44',E114* 11.65',18. Save the file.9. Compile these files with TTools.10. Rename your original traffic BGL file from .bgl to .bak to inactivate it (traffic_myplans.bgl to traffic_myplans.bak).Go flying!Whenever you want to fly into CLK again, rename your original traffic file from .bak to .bgl, and rename the X file from .bgl to .bakHope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___ Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
April 23, 200620 yr Manny,I do not have UT but MyTraffic2006. MT gives the option of selecting the "traffic year". I used the option for 1990 and disabled all included traffic*.bgl exept Traffic_Mytrafficline.bgl. I decompiled this one with TTools and than I replaced in the FlightPlans_*.txt all VHHH with VHHX as well I added VHHX (coords and altitude from Afcad2) in the Airports_*.txt. Than I compiled again with TTools - done.I would believe in UT there must be similar possibilities.BE SURE to make backups before you make changes. You should give new names to the new txt-files such as FlightPlans_VHHX.txt, Airports_VHHX.txt, in such case you need to make a copy of your UT Aircraft.txt file and rename it Aircraft_VHHX.txt as the three txt files need to "join" each other for compilation in TTools.Ciao, Peter
