April 24, 200620 yr Hind sight ia always 20/20. Tom and I are trying to give everyone many options to work with because Kai Tak deserves it.If you plan on downloading Tom's Kai Tak 63 and use it as a choice between Kai Tak 98 then you need to move my AFCAD file into the Kai Tak 98 scenery folder. AFCAD file name is af2_vhhx_ils_jv.bglMy instructions said to place it in the Addon sceneryscenery folder where most people place all their AFCAD's.If you place my AFCAD in the Kai Tak 98 scenery folder it will automactically de-activate when you remove Kai Tak 98 from the Scenery library when you get ready to add Tom's Kai Tak 63.REMEMBER to remove Kai Tak 98 from the scenery Library list, don't just untick the scenery box. When you untick a box in the scenery library it keeps all the data in the scenery.cfg and only changes Active=TRUE toActive=FALSEThe AFCAD2 program reads the scenery.cfg and will still think that my AFCAD is active if you only untick the box.A word about Strobe lights in FS9Some of the Strobe light choices as seen with AFCAD in the runway properties section will not show the strobes working if visibility is above 3 miles. This is not a problem in daylite hours because ILS lights and stobes both turn on at the 3 mile visibility setting. However, night is different. ILS lighting will activate at night regardless of visibility but strobes will only activate when visibility goes below 3 miles. This is the case with the ILS lighting I seleted to use. Memory leaksA work around to memory leaks is to add a folder to the Addon Scenery folder (no texture folder) and place the LC and WC files into that folder. You will have to activate the root folder in the FS9 Scenery Library also.ExampleAddon sceneryKai Tal 98 <----- Activate in FS9Addon sceneryKai Tak 98sceneryAddon sceneryKai Tak 98textureAddon sceneryKai Tak LC <----- Activate in FS9Addon sceneryKai Tak LCscenery <------- Place LC and WC files here I have not seen any problems with the memory leak issue pertaining to Land Class since the FS9.1 update was released. That may not be what you see with your computer. There are other forum members here that can explain the leaks in further detail than I can.

April 24, 200620 yr Great to have Kai Tak again. Question...I have no runway markings. Is it just me? Craig
April 24, 200620 yr >>> Great to have Kai Tak again. Question...I have no runway>markings.>> Is it just me?>> CraigMine was like that too, but I then fixed the runway lines/numbering/markings in afcad.
April 24, 200620 yr AFCADIf for some reason you do not see any runway markings then my AFCAD did not get installed and activated. If there are no runway markings you are looking at the FS9 default airport in the database.Do not add any runway markings thinking this is going to solve the problem. My AFCAD has to be active for Kai Tak to work.To be sure my AFCAD activates (disregard the readme instruction placement) place it in the Kai Tak 98scenery folder and activate Kai Tak 98 in the FS9 Scenery Library normally.TREESI have tried every possible install to duplicate trees on the airport that some are seeing. In the picture above it is clear that 2 things are happening. One is my Airport Land Class and water poly's are not activated. Two is the FS9 default Kai Tak airport poly is missing from the scenery.Because I can not duplicate the problem with trees some are seeing I can only guess what could be causing the problem. You may have at one time loaded a 3rd party scenery for either VHHX or VHHH and have not restored the FS9 original textures. Some 3rd party scenery overwrites all the texture files in the SceneryCities|HonkKongtexture folder. You may have to go back and reinstall those 3rd party scenery's or add back FS9 default textures.I have tested Thomas Kwong's vhhh2005b.zip and if it is installed correctly adds more scenery/buildings/ships/etc to the city of Hong Kong and is compatable with my Kai Tak 98.I also have the additional single autogen bgl from AVSIM (hkautogen2.zip) added into my Kai Tak 98 scenery folder and it also works perfectly with vhhh2005b and Kai Tak 98 files. If all else fails try downloading my kaitak98.zip again and reinstalling. A slight possibility is that the download was not complete. hope this helps
April 24, 200620 yr Ryanthanks mate! No it wasn't TrackIR, it's a little trick I use in the editing software to get the head movements. Same as the external shaky camera look.Max Regards, Max (YSSY) i7-12700K | Corsair Vengeance LPX 64GB 3600MHz DDR4 | Gigabyte RTX4090 24Gb | Gigabyte Z690 AORUS ELITE DDR4 | Corsair HX1200 PSU
