  1. catch up with us now ....no one said that there isnt any 747 routes .. the discussion is centered on the fact that if you like to fly real world routes but dont have 8 hours .. it becomes limited. Thats just a fact, really no sound argument to that fact can be made.
  2. Not even close .. his point was that with all that is right about NGX .... wing flex is a small part.
  3. These type message are a bit perplexing ... many software developments today will show some content, then nothing for a while .. and then more content. Thats just how its. Now, I would understand if MS said the project was on hold, and you losing interest as a result. But you have lost interest because they haven't put up a video ..
  4. I dont speak kid . so I dont really know facepalmed . but from the context, I assume you mean, heres some proof. Its really not proof, I see my NGX having the same wing flex while on the ground. Show me a picture/video with wing flex of real aircraft while on the ground.
  5. the real life craft doesnt have as much flex as the NGX shows
  6. I have never seen a business run like you describe..... the accountants are the ones that business/project managers consult .... the accountants do not directly make the call.
  7. what i have been saying . in a lot fewer words. Target market .. group that will provide the largest sales. Total sales is combination of casual and hardcore flight sim fans. Hardcore simmers are a small fraction of the total MSFS sales. If Flight comes to market, it will have something for all.
  8. very limited flexibility with B747 .. if you like to fly real world routes.
  9. Nothing wrong with having pride in ones country ... any country that is great has this pride.
  10. thats what I have been saying .... guess I need a commercial membership for you guys to hear me
  11. Couple of points .. anyone can write comments on wikipedia .. Really, folks you should skip the wikipedia entry when you google and take the next one. Causal gamers have carried the MSFS flight aim franchise. Please remember that crimson skies is not MSFS. Dont understand your numbers ... 300 million in the US .... you still didn't provide any input to prove or disprove the estimate of 100k flight enthusiasts ... MSFS has sold millions .. there are not millions of flight enthusiasts .. so the combined sales of the causal gamer and the flight enthusiasts makes up the total sales numbers. Consider that there are millions of folks that own the title .. but have only spend a hour or two with it over the years .. the flight enthusiasts might send hourr or two daily. thats the difference.
  12. yep . that was my point .. MS could never bring this case to court .... not with the 10min taxi guys 10 sec rant
  13. Hopefully you accidentally typed this response
  14. Depends on what the person wants ... if you want a real license, yep better investment. If you want a grand flight sim experience from the comfort of you home .. then nope. I like flying simulations of the space shuttle .. but I dont want to be an astronaut.
  15. At this point .. a "C" student law could have the case dismissed .... key element for slander in this case, is proof that MS was hurt financially for a piece of yet to be released software. Also, the 10 min taxi dude doesn't have the clout to be considered a reliable source and the "C" student lawyer would simply show that it was mostly just his opinion.
  16. its very nice . but it would make for the ugliest living room on record
  17. No one said the FS was a flop (in fact its just the opposite, the MSFS franchise has been a overwhelming success). .. Also, you are mixing your points. Whether you like something and whether something is a commercial success, are two different measurements. Lastly, you have to but on your marketing hat to understand this thread.... our little group "flight enthusiasts" are important to the franchise, but we are not the target market. GM might target the Cadillac to 40+ year olds .. but certainly people in all driving age groups will buy the Cadillac..... not the target market but still important. MSFS has sold millions of copies of MSFS ... do you think that our flight enthusiasts community is millions strong?
  18. For the most part, the enthusiasts buy the yokes .... however, the larger portion of Saitek earnings comes from its joysticks and combat throttles. If yokes were as hot of an item, you would find them readily at any electronics store, just like you see the joysticks at any electronics store.
  19. A couple of thoughs.. There is money to be made ... remember that saitek products can also be used for combat flight simmers (stuff blowing up). That market is larger that the civil flight sim market by many factors. Also, in the past MSFS got it largest number of sales from the casual gamer. The guy that likes planes but has only logged a couple of hrs on MSFS before getting bored and feeling like it might be more complicated that he/she thought. The purchase by the wife/mother that thinks her husband/son might interested (Christmas gift). My father and brother-in-law both have a copy but only collectively have about 2 hrs of flight time on the sim. For flight (2Q2011) MSFS is going for a trying a different approach ... build a sim that keeps both the causal and the hard core simmers interested and invovled the title for years to come. Translation . more sales
  20. We are the flight enthusiasts .. what is there?, say 100K of us. There are millions of gamers out there ... MSFS would like to appeal to that group ... the target audience. MS has said that flight would have something for the casual gamer and the flight enthusiast..... so relax folks
  21. It is true that you will experience a power drop off at high altitudes ... However, the reason aircraft become more fuel efficiency at higher altitudes is because drag on the aircraft decreases faster than the power drop-off. For example, an aircraft needing an 85% N1 setting to maintain 350kt at 12,000 ft. might only need a power setting of 60% at FL300 to maintain the same 350kts.
  22. Dont anyone say its simple, its not rocket science .. because it is Its not just about the speed of the air being moved .. its also about the mass of the air being moved that creates the thrust. The thrust of the engine is equal to the fluid mass multiplied by the speed at which the engine emits this mass: (thrust) = mc
