  1. Thanks allThat has helped a lot, I guess its best to just go back to the default navDB that comes with each AC "CLS757" for example, that would appear to be best matched to the FS world. So much for all the effort to get the lates AIRAC!Once again thanks for the help Avsim is a fantastic resource and help to a wannabee like meCheersPhil
  2. Which Cycle is that?
  3. Thanks for the answer, Its not only the PIC 737 but any plane Just Flights 757 has the same issue. Will test the 2000 feet issue you mentioned that might explain some issues.CheersPhil Thank you for the replyI think this would explain it, but how can I get around this, or do i just have to work around it?Phil
  4. OK can anybody help me with some problems i am encountering?when I build a flight plan for say Just flights 737 PIC from XXXX to YYYY (I am not giving specific airports because it appears to be the same at a number of places)the whole planning loading fuel/passangers programming FMC goes ok, I take off, up to crusie no problems, now the fun startsas I plan the approach.I build the approach sellect a runway and a transition to an ILS, but the approach just does not work, not allways but quite often the ILS just does not work or a waypoint is missing (not a disco i understand them and how to remove).I think what i am asking is how do i know that the navaid database in FSX matches the airac i am using as it appears they do not match currently, I am on airac 908. How do you guys make sure the appoarch you plan works?Phil
  5. If the 2 computers allready have Network cards installed, all you need is a cross-over network cable.Windows includes all the software you need.If you need to install network cards they should cost you about
  6. Thank you to everbody for the suggestions, some good pointers i will start the long road to flying big!!!Cheers
  7. ThanksWill have a look at Project opensky stuff. Do you think starting with a smaller type, something like a ERJ145 or perhaps a turbo prop would help, i must admit when i have tried the default 737 or learjet i have quickly "landed"! myself in trouble and returned to the GA Stuff.I guess from what i have read its more preflight prep, rather than just having a look out the window at the airport below, finding the active and getting on the circuit.
  8. I am sure this has been asked before but cant find anything.I have been flying for many years using single GA aircraft but would like to move up, what plane would you recomend to start learning the bigger stuff?I am using FSX for my VFR flying with the RealAir Scout package. But plan to stick to FS9 for my intro to heavy metal.Any suggestions tips would be welcome. Thanks in advance.Phil

  14. I am trying to introduce some realism into my flying, and after downloading the current metars for a flight this afternoon, i am wondering if it would be accepatble to fly in conditions as this :-I am planning a trip from Blackpool (EGNH) To Stornoway (EGPO) but the conditions at EGPO are bad winds 23 kts, Visibility is ok at 10 miles. In general terms what would be considered acceptable conditions to fly in.
