  1. Both installed. Right now 90% FS9 10% FSX (FSX for testing) I would fly FSX more often if I had the hardware.Rob
  2. Click the "General" button under Radar Contact Options from the main screen. Under "Other" check the IFR Training box. This will remove the info from the top of the display window.Cheers,Rob Abernethy>hi all,>>(in RCv4) is there a way to disable the distance remainging>counter to the active waypoint in the atc window or>altogether? if so, could someone give instructions on how to>do so? i hope this function is gone in RCv5. i don't see why>it's there in the first place with so many A/C being equipped>with GPS's and FMC's that can give you the same info. thanks>in advance for the help.>>>> happy flyin, fm
  3. If you add SendKeyPresses=Yes to the User area of the wideclient.ini file you can use the keys on the WideFS PC to control Radar Contact. Here's an example...[user]Log=Errors+SendKeyPresses=YesIn order for it to send the keys the WideClient app must have the focus on the WideFS PC.Cheers,Rob Abernethy>I'm running RC from a Widefs machine. Is it possible to>display the ATC window for the commands on the WideFS machine>instead of the machine that is running FS? Can the keystrokes>come from the support computer?>>Thanks,>Steve
  4. Hi Don,>Hi, I'm just hoping that someone can set me straight here.>I've set up Radar Contact on a second PC and the network side>of things appears to all check out and is working properly. >However when I try to start RC4 on the client it tells me>"Cannot link to FSUIPC or Wide Client" and I'm blowed if I can>find what is wrong..I have included FSX and Modules on the>"Share this file" in the network setup.>Any advice would be appreciated and thankyou in anticipation. Is FSX running on the FS PC and WideClient running on the WideFS PC before you start RC4?Cheers,Rob Abernethy

Hi Rod,>Now that i am back happily flying my way through the>tutorials, i have noticed an interesting little Quirk when>requesting a short final; I notice the controller does'nt>reply with a "short final approved" or something similar, but>just gives you a heading to turn onto. I discovered this in>tutorial 3 and this is not a complaint just an observation as>at 1st it was confusing because i thought i had been refused.>I assume if a short final is declined, the controller makes it>clear because as i said earlier the allowing of a short final>is'nt actually acknowledged as such. Anyone else noticed>this?>Cheers>RodI believe if you're denied the short final you would get "I'm going to keep you on down wind just a bit for spacing" or "I have your request" from the controller. These are just a couple examples.Rob Abernethy
  7. Hi Jim,Thanks very much for your quick reply. I'll send a note to the address you mentioned. Keep up the great work! Thanks.Rob Abernethy
  8. Hi Guys,Thanks for an incredible product! I run ASv6 via WideFS and wondered if it is possible to have Active Radar run standalone on a WideFS PC? If not are there any plans to possibly have this capability in future versions? My apologies if this has been answered before. Thanks.Rob Abernethy
  9. Hi Bruce,>Am I correct that I do not have to uninstall v4.0 prior to>installing v4.01? Meaning that the new .exe will overwrite>the old one?>>Thanks- Bruce.>That is correct. V4.01 installs on top of V4.0.Cheers,Rob Abernethy
  10. Hi Ian,Although I haven't experienced the delays you mention I recently moved from onboard audio to a PCI bus card and noticed a great improvement in overall performance. If you have a spare card it might be worth trying just to see. I would say the average response time from key press to voicing of an instruction is between one and two seconds and I run RC via WideFS.Cheers,Rob Abernethy
  11. Hi Jim,Thanks for the fast reply! I have the interval set at 10 minutes and get the updates for the nearest station fine (upper windows). If I do a "FETCH" (lower windows) once airborne for the destination it returns the data however it remains stagnant throughout the flight unless I click "FETCH" again. I was wondering if there is some way to have the "FETCH" data (lower windows) update automatically, if there is one, at the same time the nearest station data does as the flight progresses? Thanks!Robert
  12. Hi All,Incredible product, a must have !Is there a way to have the data returned from a "FETCH" automatically updated each time there is an update from the server? I know I can simply click "FETCH" again but was looking for the lazy way out ;-)Thanks!Robert
  13. Hi Craig, Mike,Testing here as well.Cheers,Rob E
  14. >A good PSU is a must. The Antec Neopower 480 is a good>choice:>http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....-103-924&depa=0> Has 3% Regulation (most PSU's have 5% under the best of>conditions) and is PCI-E ready (24 pin connector and split 12V>rails). Not cheap but a very nice PSU for the price.I'll check that out. Thanks for all your help.Robert - KCAE
  15. Hi Greg,Any recomendations on motherboard/video card combos? I was looking at a Gigabyte PCI-e 6800 Ultra and MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum board as it is supposed to have a 16x PCI-e slot. Perhaps this is not a good combination? I know SLI is of no benefit to FS9 now that's why I didn't consider that model. Any help is appreciated.Robert - KCAE
  16. Hi Greg,I think I'll go with the 1Gb PQI 3200 Turbo 2-2-2-5. It seems reasonably priced and has good scores. After researching this and other components I'm wondering if it's worth keeping the ATI 9800PRO. Perhaps I should look at GeForce 6800 Ultra and say a MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum motherboard. Any thoughts? I obviously would like to try and avoid as many bottlenecks as possible. Thanks again for your suggestions.Robert - KCAE
  17. Hi Greg,Thanks and I appreciate the quick reply. I will research the tests of TCCD memories and try to make a selection. Of the choices you gave which would you choose? >The following are some of the choices:>>Apacer PC4000>Centon Advanced DDR>Corsair PC3200XL>Corsair XMS PC3200C2 Rev4.1 2-3-3-6-1T>Geil UltraX pc3200 ~ Brainpower PCB>G.Skill (the LE is the best choice, but all G.Skill stuff is>good)>Kingston HyperX PC 3200ULK2>Mushkin PC3200 Rev.2>OCZ PC3200 Rev.2 ~ Brainpower PCB>OCZ PC3700 Platinum>Patriot Extreme Performance PDC5123200+XBLK ~ Brainpower PCB>PQI 3200 Turbo 2-2-2-5 ~ Brainpower PCB>Ultra PC3200 XL 400MhzWould there be any benefit from going to 2gb instead of 1gb for FS9? Thanks again for your help.Robert - KCAE
  18. Hi All,First post! I'm hooked and have been since I bought FS9 last June. I've always found answers to my questions and want to say a big THANKS to all!I'm putting together specs for a new system and need help/recomendations with system memory. The motherboard I'm working with is a Asus A8V Deluxe. I'm looking at 1gb of Corsair Twinx 1024-3200LL and wondered if some other model or manufacturer would perform better. FX-55 processor, ATI 9800PRO video (current system), 2x36gb Raptor drives, Antec case, Thermaltake 480W PS and case fans round out the box along with peripheral drives of my existing system. Anything else I should consider? Thanks in advance for your comments/suggestions.Robert - KCAE
