  1. My usual saved flight that I load from the menu works fine and a flick of the throttle sends them to idle. But, if I arrange a freeflight with the PMDG 744, the throttles are maxxed out and there is nothing I can do about it. I use the throttle lever on my Yoke as default.
  2. My 744 nearly always defaults to full thrust as soon as the flight begins (I start with engines running), and sometimes cannot reduce the thrust by any means. Is this a known bug, and if so is there a fix for it?
  3. Flyengravity have the 737 and 744 hardware versions of CDU but only operate with the PMDG 744 at the moment. flightsimlabs produces the payware drivers.http://www.flightsimlabs.com/Interfaces/Fl...vityCDUFSX.aspx
  4. I am sure that someone had managed to select and undock the upper eicas panel and positioned it on a second monitor. However, I cannot find how to do it and want to know if I was dreaming?I am aware that you can left mouse click on the PFD, ND, UPPER EICAS and they enlarge, but cannot undock them.
  5. I assume you have the Flight Director on and A/T armed? If the FMC states that crz alt not attainable it may mean that you are flying a short route and the aircraft does not have time to climb to your selected alt before having to descend again.
  6. Thats where it all goes wrong for me. The problem being is not knowing which sid is appropriate for the direction you are heading.
  7. Of course. Thanks alot, Aristoteles.I assume there is no sidstar data in that flight plan, then?
  8. Quote[My sidstars are customized to add routing between departure runway and SID fixes, and between STAR arrivals and approaches for use if you are not using an ATC service such as VATSIM. They require that the navdata be the same cycle as the sidstar too. Thats interesting Dan. I will use Navigraph as it is cheap I agree. How do you customize your sidstars?
  9. Just to make sure here. I assume the route, broken down, is from ML to JCW via H66. Then JCW to BN via H185. Not sure what DCT at both ends mean though? Any idea anyone?
  10. DCT ML H66 JCW H185 BN DCTI used this website http://vatpac.org/assist/?pg=pilotassist to interrogate flightplan info for YMML YBBN. The above plan is what I received. Can I manually input this into the FMC?
  11. I have tried the search function but I only receive database errors. My question is, is it still possible to download the current airac for free? I see you get charged now on navigraph.Thanks.
  12. I have fsbuild but I cannot get on with it. Is it possible to obtain coroute plans that are actually flown in real life? Inparticular Australia. Many thanks.
  13. I have fsbuild but I think it is utter crap. The autogenerate feature is useless. Is there any web site where you can obtain official coroute plans?
  14. Pause sim/Press V/image in my pictures/open in paint/save as jpeg/upload to tiny pic
  15. I was preparing the cockpit for an arrival at YBCG from YMML in the 744, and to my surprise there was no ILS freq/hdg info on the navrad page. I am flying a coroute and have a complete route with arr runway. I cannot find the ILS freq on the FSX map either. Am I to assume there is no ILS at the said airport?
  16. Do you have to start with cold and dark cockpit or can you start fs2crew at any stage? I always begin with engines running as the start up bores me. Thanks in advance.
  17. Thanks for all the tips and alternative methods. How is RC4? I remember installing RC3 and had nothing but trouble until I uninstalled.
  18. From NickN over at simforums.PLEASE NOTE: This section is for anyone who sees out of memory error while using FSX. It applies to ALL circumstances. To clear up confusion about this change.. the amount reserved for the cache is NOT and DOES NOT have anything to do with the amount of memory in the system or how much memory you are allowing access to the system!!This change only tweaks the address space, relieving the OOM error. The 32bit system will use the physical memory installed up to 4GB regardless! ONLY FSX SP2 HAS THE ABILITY TO ADDRESS MORE THAN 2GB OF SYSTEM MEMORY. THE DVD AND SP1 VERSIONS CAN ADDRESS MORE THAN 2GB HOWEVER IT REQUIRES MANUAL EDITING OF THE DVD OR SP1 FSX.EXE FILE USING SPECIAL SOFTWARE WHICH WILL ALLOW >2GB SUPPORT.The method of removing out of memory and other errors on a 32bit Operating system and allow fsx access to memory amounts greater than 2GB is listed here:For XP:disable hidden files and folder, then on the root C:\ you will find a file named: boot.ini Open it in notepad and add the follwoing to the end of the OS boot line: /3GB/Userva=2560 EXAMPLE LINE EDIT:multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows XP Professsional" /fastdetect /3GB /Userva=2560 <---- add it heresave and close the filerebootto set that back to default, simply remove the editIf you are using XP SP2 and are running a dual, quad, OR a single core Intel HYPERTHREAD processor, make sure this update is appliedhttp://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=enXP SP3 users do not need that updateFor Vista:WINDOWS VISTA ONLY: 1. Open a command prompt with Administration rights. You find the command prompt box under "Programs-Accessories-Command prompt" 2. Right Click the command prompt and select "run as administrator". 3. Enter in the box at the prompt: (copy/paste if you wish) bcdedit /set IncreaseUserVA 2560 and press enter 4. Reboot TO set that back to default in VISTA just start the command line prompt with Admin right again and type: bcdedit /set IncreaseUserVA 2048 Hit enter and reboot NOTE: It is possible you may need to TUNE this value if out of memory errors still display, especially with large video memory video cards (640mb and above)If you sill see OOM errors, do the following:Depending on your OS follow the directions above about editing the system for the cache value. What you will do is LOWER the value edited to the system originally. The amount should be DROPPED in lots of 64. EXAMPLE: Original Edit = 2560LOWER this to 2496, reboot and retest. If OOM still appearsLOWER the edit to 2432, reboot and retest. If OOM still appearsLOWER the edit to 2368, reboot and retest. If OOM still appearsLOWER the edit to 2432, reboot and retest. If OOM still appears, one of 2 problems are possible1. There is a addon in FSX which is not made correctly or has an error in it forcing the OOM.2. Your system (motherboard) simply does not play well with this edit and possibly more than 2GB in the system. The solution to #1 is to locate the addon causing the error through a process of elimination. See if you can ID what addon be it aircraft or scenery may be in use with the error appears and eliminate them as possibilites. The solution to #2 when the memory and the motherboard memory slots are confirmed as correct in use is switch to a 64bit (x64) OS (Vista or XP) which I suggest eveyone use anyway for FSX
  19. Thanks for that Dan, point taken. That theory makes perfect sense. I spend too much time looking out the window, when I obviously should be looking elsewhere.
  20. Could anyone tell me my best up-grade option with my current machine. I was wondering if it was possible to upgrade to a new mobo with new processer / memory etc but keep my existing harddrive / graphics card etc? Thanks for any help.
  21. I arm the auto throttle and select V and L NAV as per normal procedures. Soon after rotation I select central command and VNAV changes to FLCH. Is this normal? Once FLCH has selected the speed (V2 + 10) is maintained during the climb and therefore I never get to retract flaps. Could anyone explain if this should occur? Many thanks,
  22. Flightaware is USA only. Is there a similar site around that caters for European flights? Thanks.
