  1. Thanks alot guys! Here's another screenshot of the right side of the aircraft:I have uploaded the livery to avsim today. If everything goes fine, the filename should be texture_pmdg_ual_staralliance.zip.best regards,Christian
  2. Hello,I hope it's fine to post a screenshot of what I am currently working on. I think I am done wiht the left side, the right side still has to painted (still looking for a few photos).Getting the Star Alliance title showing up correctly was a bit difficult, that's the reason the letters on the back look a little bit smaller. But it's simply not possible to get the repaint looking right if you keep the letters the same size, due to the mapping of the 3D model.best regards,Christian
  3. Not a solution to the problem, but regarding the last screenshot. I am not sure how good the idea is, to have his emailadress and Order ID posted in the forums?Best regards,Christian
  4. Steffen, there's no need to convert anyhting from DDS to BMP. The paintkit comes with normal PSD files. If you convert these with i.e. imagetool to normal DXT3 bitmaps you should be fine. The rest of the textures can be taken from other FS9 repaints.I haven't checked if 32bit bitmaps work fine too. But I can't iamgine why not? :)Christian
  5. Hello,I have just installed new mesh from FS Genesis, especially 76m for Canada and the U.S. and the 38m mesh for the West Coast. If I am starting a flight from Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles or Anchorage, the flight loads to about 18-20% and then results in a crash to desktop. I thought it had to do with the FSG mesh and I was able to solve the problem by uninstalling the Northern Canada, U.S and West Coast Mesh.I have got no problems with other mesh files I am using. Europe and Africa airports just load fine.Just for fun I have tried to install a freeware mesh for Los Angeles and again I am receiving a CTD when attempting to start a flight in Los Angeles. So I have the feeling the CTDs are not related to the FSG mesh at all. I had no problems with the West Coast mesh on my old system, so I am pretty stuck here. By the way I can load a flight at Seattle with the West Coast mesh installed, but Los Angeles then results in a crash.Does anyone have a clue what the cause of those crashes can be and if there's a fix?My system specs:Windows XP 64bitIntel Core2 E0 3.2 GHz4GB RamATI Radeon HD 4870I have installed all my LOD9 mesh in one folder being at the top of scenery library. Thanks!Christian
  6. Steffen, actually you can use the FSX paintkit. I wonder why everybody is in need of the FS9 paintkit. I have laready done a repaint for the MD-11 in FS2004 using the FSX paintkit and it works perfectly.Unless I am missing something important, I can only recommend to use the FSX paintkit too.Christian
  7. Looks great Pete. Wonderful colours! Keep the previews coming!Cheers,Christian
  8. Looks great Pete....even better with the "chocolate stripe" :D.Cheers!Christian
  9. Awesome repaint and screenshots Pete. The red in the last one looks splendid.Great that I had the chance to fly on one of LTU's Trijets. Thanks Pete!Christian
  10. Hey Rob,thanks once more. This PMDG_AppMins.wav is missing in my sound folder and I guess the FS2004 PMDG 747 still doesn't come with the 'approaching minimus sound'.I assume you are using the FSX version of the Queen, are you?Cheers,Christian
  11. Thanks for your reply Rob. I am aware of the BA soundset but it doesn't have the approaching minimus callout. As far as I know the FS2004 Queen of the Skies doesn't feature the 'approaching minimums' callout, no matter if you have got the Freighter or not.I have hoped that this has changed with the latest Service Pack and someone has forgot to insert a soundfile or so. But it seems like it's still missing. Well too bad, but it doesn't muddy the experience with the PMDG 747 :).Thanks.Christian
  12. I haven'tcommented on your other threads Pete but I had a close look at all your MD-11 previews so far. So this post has to do it for the others: Awesome work you have done there!Looks like there's not too much left for other painters :D.Keep them coming!best regards,Christian
  13. Hello PMDG Team,I have got a question regarding the 'Approaching Minimums' callout, which was introduced with the 747X. With the release of the new Service Pack, you have mentioned that the 747 for FS9 was brought to the same state as the 747X is (as far as this is possible in both sims). Is there any chance that the 'Approaching Minimums' callout has made it into the service pack and the sound file was accidently left out? Or is this still an 747X feature only? Not that I necessarily need it, but I am just curious :D.kind regards,Christian
  14. Hello all,I am an avid friend of Beno
  15. Hi Brian, thanks for pointing me to it :). Indeed, it would be awesome to get that FS9 update, without having FSX installed. I am falling under those who use Vista and I'd rather stay with FS9.PMDG-Team, if there's any chance to bring the FS9 update to FS9-Only-Users it would be fantastic. I would even pay for it. Of course a lower price than the dsicounted FSX version would be appreciated :).I am eagerly looking forward to hear 'Approaching minimus'. Isn't it funny how small things can make people happy? :Dbest regards,Christian
  16. Great news and thanks! A short question: is an installation also possible of the FS9 update without having FSX installed? :) best regards,Christian
  17. Great work Brian! I wonder if a Lufthansa layout possible, since the first class is on the upper deck. LH has a pretty cool layout as pdf on their homepage :).Indeed, too bad that is not possible to add custom .ini files.Christian
  18. Hello Davis and Jaap, first of all, thank you both for your friendly help, it's much appreciated :):Davis, I am going to change from the E6700 to the E6600, and I have already read a bit in the internet about overclocking it, I think I am able to achieve that.I have also changed from ValueRam to 2x HyperX DIMM 1 GB DDR2-1066, that again saves some cash and should have no problems with the speed the mainboard supports.I was a bit worried about the RAID configuration too, I guess I will go for a normal Western 150 GB harddrive, those are a bit expensive but I have heard those seem to be quite fast and reliable?I have read the informations about the MOBO and PSU again and regarding pins everything should work fine (the MOBO needs 24 pins and the PSU comes with 1x ATX 24 pins cable, an 8 pin cable is available too), thanks for the tip :).Jaap, my current system is a three year old Dell Dimension XPS (I know!!) with a Pentium 3.6GHz, 2GB Ram and an ATI X800 XT 256 MB, the display is a 17" TFT. It actually works very good, I haven't had any trouble in those three years (except that my CD-Drive stopped working) and FS2004 runs fine on it, but you can still bring it on its knees.I am not sure if I can keep my old IDE hardrive and ATI Radeon card and simply purchase a new mobo with an E6600 and new RAM? That would save me a lot of money and time to reinstall everything?kind regards and thanks,Christian
  19. Hello :-wave,I am probably purchasing a new computer in the next few weeks. Since I am planning to stay with FS2004, I hope following system components might give me a fluid sim experience even with lots of clouds and detailed airports, for a convenient price:Graphiccard: NVIDIA PCIe: MSI NX7900GS-EZ * 512 MB, GeForce 7900 GS, PCIe x16, 256 Bit Processor: Intel
  20. Great new website and nice screenshots. I especially like the Lufthansa MD-11F ;).Any chance of getting a favicon, so my link in IE7 and Firefox looks more interesting :)?Cheers,Christian
  21. >Patience is a virtue!>>DaveWell said Dave! If the AirlinerXP A320 keeps it promises, the hard time waiting for a quality Airbus addon will be over :).Meanwhile I would spend my time with other addons or hobbies Patrick ;).Cheers,Christian
  22. Hello, this sounds very interesting, especially after reading a few posts now that FS9 seems to run quite fluently on those Intel Core 2 Duo processors.Since I am a student and have to do presentation and work at university, I thought of purchasing one of those IBM/Lenovo laptops with an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0Ghz processor and an ATI Radeon X1400 graphics card. But flying FS9 more often than I actually should, I wasn't sure if a Laptop could handle it?I would use my 'old' LCD screen for flying and working at home, it should be possible to connect it to a laptop, shouldn't it?It would be great to get some input from you guys, if this is the right way to go?best regards,Christian
  23. Looks awesome Tom! Very well done! I like the shading of the colours, especially on the tails :D.best regards,Christian
  24. Thanks for the helpful link. The registration fonts are always something I could tear my hairs out :D.I have released the XL Airways repaint, now it's time for the next one :(.best regards,Christian
